A friend of mine gave me 2 plain white latte mugs and I wanted to "fancy" them up a bit.
My idea came from these two pins.
I love the look of the gold and the Hey Ya'll statement,
but I didn't want the hassle of the glitter
even though I do love glitter.
I got my supplies:
mugs, dishwasher proof gold paint, a paint brush
and painter's tape.
Honestly,
the hardest thing about this project was trying to
wrap the tape evenly around the mugs.
I needed 2 coats of paint and maybe could have even added a third.
I let my paint dry for about 30 minutes between coats.
I got out my trusty black sharpie for the writing and then baked my mugs so they would be dishwasher safe.
I let the mugs dry for an hour before putting into the oven
and then preheated the oven at 350 degrees.
I let the mugs "bake" for 30 min,
turned off the oven and let the mugs cool down.
I let them sit for 3 days before using.
I think my two mugs turned out pretty cute and the cost was minimal.

Aww, that's so cute!
Now I am pinning this from you. I want to do these and some glitter wine glasses, so cute.
Though I haven't commented in a while I stop by often and see your posts and outfits. Nice surprise seeing you on Ginny's blog, too.
Have a great Thursday. Ada. =)
These turned out so good! This seems like such an easy project too. The Hey Y'All quote is my favorite!
What a great, simple but fun new crafting idea.... Imagie the different two or three word phrases one could add...
These turned out so well! Enjoy them.
I remember doing these for some teacher gifts last year! The gift that keeps on giving, provided they don't break.
These turned out great, so cute!
These are so cute! I have tried this before with a sharpie, unfortunately mine still washes off. But at least I only wanted it as a jewelry tray!
Brett, I LOVE these! So professional. Your handwriting is lovely too. I would love to have my morning coffee in these!
