On Saturday we headed up to Asheville where son1 goes to college.
We went up for Oktoberfest last year and it was such a lovely time that we wanted to experience it again.
Lucky for us the sunshine and temperatures cooperated just like last year.
We had a spectacular day and a fabulous visit with son1!
The band was quite authentic.
We passed by when they were setting up and the members were all talking to each other in German.
The music was fun and people REALLY got into it.
We passed on the Brats, which looked delish by the way and were served on pretzel rolls, but we had eaten the yummiest breakfast
I think I have suggested to go here before, but I will say it again!!
We did have one of these uberpretzels midday and some of the best mustard ever to go with it.
This happy couple was kind enough to pose for me.
Many people were dressed up and the people watching was some of the best.
Let's not forget about the beer!
The local microbreweries were all represented.
I believe there about 20 different kinds of beer in all.
We tried 15 of them.
The beer was all good, all very different and very unique.
Husband, me and son1 around mid afternoon!
Son2 was at home enjoying the run of the house.
Yes, those are porta potties behind me. You can't go to a beer festival and not expect LOTS of porta potties!
After our day in Asheville, husband and I drove on to Lake Toxaway to stay with friends at their mountain home.
We had the loveliest of weekends.
I hope that you did as well.

We celebrate Octoberfest down here as well...it is big in our German community of New Braunfels! Looks like you and your hubs and very handsome son1 had a great time!! Saturday was a fun day for me as well...that's when I met Tim Gunn!!
Ohhhhh, I bet that was so fun...and yummy too!
I still like your blue jeans, and now I want a pretzel.
I've never been to Oktoberfest but it sounds like a blast (I'll have to research a local event!) I love the costumed couple and I especially love your outfit- so colourful (and you match your hubby!) Son1 is very handsome- he has your cheeky smile and I love the curly hair :)
Looks like lots of fun. Those pretzels look like even more fun. I could eat at least five of those.
Love the cobalt jeans on you. I'm SO happy you got them.

Tracy
