What The Heck Day Is It Anyway???

Is your week as mixed up as mine is?
How could one little middle of the week holiday make life so confusing??
I am continuing on with the red, white and blue theme as you can see.
There's not that many times a year one can pull it off without looking costumey.(is that even a word?)
As you can see, this is just a very casual simple look to beat the heat.
 No frills * no fuss.

I tried to do a 4th of July inspired mani as I posted yesterday.
Man, is it more difficult than you would think.
Mine is hastily done and not done very well,
 but I did do it!

So I am linking up with The Nail Files today to show it off,
although I might be embarrassing myself a bit!

The Nail Files
As you can see, it is pretty lame.
Son2 called me out for the dots instead of stars and only 4 stripes.

I used
  • GoGo Girl-Sinful Colors
  • Midnight Cami-Essie
  • Marshmallow-Essie
Did you attempt a patriotic mani?
How did it work out for you?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Great job on the nails. Looks like you have a pretty steady hand. I couldn't do it that nicely.
You look great in shorts!!

I am still confused... Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will get it together. Great Mani!!

Oh please, they look good! You can totally tell they're a flag. Did you do the lines with the brush from the Essie bottle itself? If so, then I'm really impressed because it's really wide!

That's my kind of outfit on a hot summer day!

I dress relaxed every day. Only way to go in the summer time heat. Cute t-shirt!

I find painting with white so difficult, it always looks like white out on my nails! I think yours is cute, pretty impressive for an at-home mani! Cute simple look, you still make it fashion forward with the scarf as belt! Have a fab weekend Brett :)

You should tell your son he should try to paint his own nails and see how well he does! I also did a patriotic mani - I used nail striping tape but cheated by using glitter ;)

I agree -- Tuesday felt like a Friday, Thursday felt like a Monday, and today (Saturday) feels like a different week. Nice pictures.

I am super excited for you to buy the union jacket bracelet! I plan to wear mine the week of the Olympics! Your 4th of July nails are GREAT!!! I was discussing this on twitter with Penny Pincher Fashion and the Stylish Housewife. Each had said their attempts weren't what they had in mind...I tried to create a fireworks/sparkle nail...ehh it was ok. Red and blue alternating nails with a red, blue, and silver star sparkle polish. It was BEAR to remove that sucker!

Your nails are adorable, you should be proud of your steady hand. I had similar intentions but mine was nowhere near as good. Love your bright blue sandals!
