So I am back from my little vacay and I apologize for any weirdness my blog underwent while I was gone.
I was posting from my iphone and had almost no service. My post on Monday was up as Friday most of the week and my Tues. post came and went randomly until it reappeared as a post on Thursday. Not blogging from my iphone again!!
I am linking up with Two Birds again this Monday, soooo
Let's get to our inspiration picture for this week:
Thankfully the inspiration is Katie Holmes and not Suri
who may or may not be wearing a nightgown.
I didn't have a chambray anything but a shirt and thought we would all be embarrassed if I just belted that and wore it as my inspiration.
I went with just a casual little dress like Katie.
The stripes might be considered chambray in color,
but I think they are really gray.
I added a pop of color with the shoes and
did brown accessories like Katie.
I didn't have a small child to use as an accessory
so I will just have to go it alone in my pictures!

I like the pink shoes!
Can't go wrong with a classic striped dress. And I love that you added the bright shoes for color. It really dressed up the classic pieces!

Love how you interpreted the inspiration pic, love the stripes!
but small kids are all the rage these days! =) i love your take. the stripes and pink look great together!
You look great! I always love a simple shirt dress. And I love the pop of color in your shoes.
I love that simple dress! It's very cute and looks great with the belt! I chose a simple dress today too, not a chambray one either.
I'm outraged that you didn't borrow a child for this photo! :-D
Love the striped dress and the pop of color from the shoes. :)
You are hilarious! Love the striped dress with the pop of color.
Hi Brett,

I like your interpretation! Perfect pink flats! You've even got your hair in ponytail.
Great job Brett! Cute as always!
Is the dress new from the Gap recently? Would LOVE to have that in my closet!!
tee shirt dresses are so comfy! Love the pink!
You did a pretty great copy of Katie, except yours is knit and gray and shoes are the wrong color, but who is noticing right? ok.
I just going to go join your cute site anyway. hahaha.
Come on over to my little humble edge of the blogosphere and see if you'd like to hop on too?
:D
The pink shoes are awesome, and I don't think you needed to wear your chambray mini shirt dress because this looks great. and you're right... thank goodness the inspiration wasn't Suri... we'd all be modeling scarves and pajamas.
Great casual look. I'm not sure if children make good accessories. Hope you enjoyed the vacay!
This is a great dress Brett, and looking at your post, I just realized that there is nothing in my closet that looks like this! I need to add something similar! My Mom called after reading your comment and said she agreed with you! The outfit was quite Mary Tyler Moore looking :)
Haha! You can borrow one of mine. ;
) I love that casual little dress!
Brett, welcome back! Love your striped dress, found a similar one this weekend thrifting and put it back. Hugged all the wrong places. Love your pink shoes. Dawn suitcase vignettes xo
I love these shoes with this outfit. So cute. :)
