Monday Inspiration

And it's Monday again and by the way..
How did we get to the middle of the month already??

Today's Inspiration challenge over on Two Birds is Eva Mendes. I fell in love with Eva in the movie Hitch.  I especially wanted every outfit she wore in that movie and her outfits don't disappoint in real life either.
I will have to say this one took a little digging to figure out how to pull it off.
I usually don't wear a lot of brown and I don't really do a lot of flowy mid-length skirts.
I went with my trusted pink pleated skirt for the bottom and put the print element on top.
The silk blouse has a t-shirt construction kind of feel to it.
Eva had no added jewelry to her outfit,
so as hard as that was for me to do, I went with it.
I dug out my vintage(it was brand new when I bought it back in '93)coach cross-over bag
 and
threw on these sunglasses that someone had left at my house the other day.
This outfit made me search my closet and really think about how I was going to put this look together.
 I love a good challenge.

Do you search for new ways to wear clothing items
 or
do you usually go with the tried and true?

Be sure to pop by tomorrow for a fun participatory post.
(at least I hope people will participate!)

Your skirt is way better than Eva's skirt! The color is gorgeous.

Search for new ways, thanks to you guys!

Those sunglasses are so cool, Brett, and I love the leather belt with the pleated skirt. No jewelry! Ack! I couldn't rise to that challenge, says the woman with the gold metallic manicure and seven bangles...lol.

I love Eva and I love your pink pleats, Brett! Although she'd look good in potato sack I do actually prefer your bright colour and printed top, sweeetie :))

You did a great job at this challenge! You can definitely see the inspiration, but the outfit is still very "you". So cute!

Your skirt is amazing. I absolutely love the color and anything with pleats is okay by me!

Hot skirt. You could attract sailors with that.

I love that you made this outfit all your own! The pink pleated skirt is darling and I'm glad you got a little wear out of it before the weather got too cold. Though it would be adorable transitioned into autumn as well. Adorable, Brett!

I'm always looking for new ways - but then i find I'll have a thought/idea/see something and then promptly forget... especially when I'm running in the morning.

Have a fabulous week.

Fab outfit. I always try to shop my wardrobe for the Monday Inspiration challenges as I find it makes me think about how I wear things. It's so easy to just put the same things on time after time.

I've always gone with the tried and true, but lately I'm making a little more of an effort to mix things up!
