Breakfast with the Boys

Thursday morning son1, son2 and I got up early and headed to a big hearty breakfast at The Original Pancake HouseAfterwards we hit the mall for a little shopping.  We knew what we were looking for and after only two stores we found it!  I was a bit disappointed because I had this movie version in my head of shopping with the boys.  I know the movie version in our heads is not realistic and I quickly found that out after suggesting we go to "just one more store"  17 and 19 year old man/children are not the best shopping buddies.  I quickly switched to a new movie version and the rest of the morning was great.
The biggest lesson I have learned in my life is that expectations will get you into trouble faster than anything else and can ruin your day more than anything else.  Quickly adjust, move on and have a great experience!

Just a little Christmas wisdom from me to you. :)

Today was just cold enough to bring out the fur sweater and be comfortable.  Paired with a big old pink pearl and rhinestone pendant is makes the grade for my challenge.

Just to clarify, these pants are NOT white.  They are cream and I have been seeing this color in all of the catalogs and magazines for winter.  I wouldn't normally wear these pants this time of year.  Trying to break out of my box.

Do you like the boots?  An early Christmas present! Thanks to Lise Marie over at Southern Comfort for showing off her pair and making me NEED to own my very own pair.

I have no idea where this brooch came from.  I found it in the bottom of my jewelry pit box and turned it into a pendant.

pink t- Old Navy
fur sweater-thrifted
pants-GAP
boots-Target (they are real leather!!)
watch-The Jewel Box
earrings-Handpicked
necklace-brooch turned into pendant

Brett--the brooch is lovely. And if it makes you feel any better, I do cream cords in the winter.

At the risk of raising expectations, one day a few years from now, you'll have future daughters-in-law to shop with.
