Moving Day

As you know on Tuesday I went to get son1 from school.  The day before, finals had been postponed due to snow and ice.  Lucky for him, he didn't have any finals that day.  I wasn't even sure he would be able to come home on Tuesday up until the last minute due to weather conditions and finals schedule.  Thankfully it all worked out.

I thought son1 had a lot of dirty clothes when he came home at Fall Break, boy was I mistaken!  My car was packed and it was pretty much just dirty clothes.

I knew it was going to be freezing cold and that ice and snow was everywhere, so I dressed for warmth.  My delimma: how to add the spark to my outfit to stay within the rules of my challenge.  What any good southern girl would do to dress something up... add pearls! Remember when I added the pearls to my XXXL sweatshirt that husband brought home to me?!

My packing,moving, cleaning, driving outfit

This is one of my CAbi items that I ordered back in September or October.  It had been on backorder and just arrived.

Seriously, I don't know what it is with long necklaces and my boobies!

I thought I was being smart wearing my boots in the cold wintery weather.  Yea, I almot fell on my a$$ a number of times.  I needed snow chains on the bottom of my boots.

I love that this swing tunic had built in hand warmers.  They certainly came in handy.

Yes, pearls can be a girls best friend. They never go out of style and you can never wear too many at once.

Brett, you are so right...pearls dress up anything..really anything!
I will be up to my neck in dirty clothes as well...so I will think of you. The batch with the hunting garments hasn't come in yet..those are usually very fragrant!

Love the boots and perfect length on the tunic. I kno--the pearl, boobie thing! Does the same to me--that's why I don't wear necklaces anymore!

I LOVE that dress!!!!!!!!!!
You are in my go-to holiday look for sure! Black is a girl's best friend.
I am also nuts for pearls, too.
tommorrow, i am gonna pile on all my pearls and photograph them.
Would you do the same and we can do a "double strand" post together next week?
It would be fun!
let me know if u want to.
I am trying to come up with posts that include my blog buddies, and not take so many "me' photos since the days are so long and cold.
If you want to join, let me know and we can e-mail our photos to each other and post them on the same day!
Maybe we could get some of our other blog buddies to join in as well ?

Love the boots. Oh, boy, my son will be in college next year.. here's to hoping he does his laundry and just doesn't let it pile up... wishful thinking. xo

I had the same experience! While still trying to look fashionable (in icy conditions) I had a total 3Stooges moment--my brain flashed with an image of my kids finding me sprawled on the icy driveway after school. I should have followed your cue and worn flat boots. Except my daughter took them to college.... Love your look! The pearls are totally cute!
