Simplicity

Simplicity seems to be one of the buzz words floating around in fashion right now.  I just saw the word in giant letters on the window of GAP the other day.
What does it actually mean though?
Websters describes simplicity as : the state of being simple or uncomplicated, a directness of expression.
I don't think simplicity has to be boring at all. I came across this picture of Reese Witherspoon and thought she did a great job of being simplistic, yet stylish.
Today I have decided to emulate her look
Not much going on here at all,
but with the right shoes and scarf
the look is stylish and trendy.
I choose not to wear any accessories except for the scarf.
What is your opinion about all the hype of simplicity these days?

Sometimes it is nice to have an easy, chic outfit on. I think you did a great job of recreating Reese's look.

This look is great! I think by not having other accessories...the scarf gets to be the star of the show! It looks wonderful!....very Reese-like!

I love simplicity...but if I go simple I make sure I have at least one interesting piece. Which you've obviously done here with the scarf!!

I like simple silhouettes but am drawn to insane patterns so I don't think anyone will be accusing me of being minimal anytime soon. : )

Ms. Witherspoon is a great example of classic chic. She always looks so put together. You did a good job of recreating the look. I like your scarf a lot!

I love simple chic. Reese, Gwyneth, Jennifer Aniston. I love their styles and they are always casual, simple, but chic.

You did this look perfectly. I love your poses. You make me smile!

I guess I've been under a rock...I didn't know there was a hype about simplicity in fashion. I will say that I love the simple look of the outfits you and Reese put together though. :)

Well, I'm a bit of a simpleton in my approach. I think it's because I don't want to have to fuss with my appearance in front of a class of students.

It looks great on you. I'd send your knock off to Reese!

The rule I stick to is if I have on big earrings - no bracelet or necklace. If I have on a statement bracelet, simple simple earrings. If I have on an awesome necklace, no bracelet or earrings.

If you dress sharply they'll remember the outfit. Dress impeccably and they'll remember you.

I love Reese and you picked a nice look for inspiration. The simplicity of the outfit focuses attention on its center (the scarf), which adds visual power. Very nice!

Oh I like it, you did a great job. The scarf is great. I love simplicity that's my style, plus practical. I need to be able to run after my kids :)

Simple is MINIMALIST, which is totally cool and chic. I have a feeling I am lacking in anything simple with my 30 for 30 choices. I just started feeling scared...

Reese is one of my favorites, too, and I totally agree that sometimes the simplest outfit is the chicest. You look great!
