California Dreamin'

Hi all!  I am back from LA.  We had a great time and the weather was perfection.
It seems like we were gone forever even though it was only 6 days.

I will not bore you with tons of pictures, especially since son1&2 will not allow their faces on this blog. LOL
I will only post a few and give a few highlights of the trip.

I really like Los Angeles, the weather is amazing, the city definitely has the "cool" factor, but I would be in an insane asylum because of the traffic.  I have always heard about LA traffic.  I never imagined it would be so horrible.

The first order of business was to go to IN and Out Burger of course!
Now, as a rule I usually don't eat red meat and I couldn't tell you the last time I had a hamburger.
  This was delicious though!!!
 I get the hype now.
While in LA we basically explored by areas since the traffic is so bad and everything is so far away from each other.
I have to say I didn't really have a favorite area.
Every time I was in a different area I liked it for whatever reason.
As you can see in the picture, our weather was great with very little smog.

One of my all time favorite shows...Gilmore Girls

We did a tour of Warner Brother's Studio.
It is a working studio and while we were there shooting for Pretty Little Liars was going on.
I saw Laura Leighton(Hannah's mom) , Holly Combs(Aria's mom), Shay Mitchell(Emily) and Tammin Sursock(Jenna).

The day we went down to Hollywood Boulevard it was crazy crowded.
Did you know that the Kodak theater is in a mall?
 I had no idea.
The whole thing is designed to accommodate the awards show.
  It is all pretty cool.
While down there we ate at Musso and Franks
It was the best meal we had.
The inside is very old Hollywood, the waiters are in red jackets and black ties.
While we there a big party of important guys was taking place.  We never found out who or what they were about, so we just let our imaginations run wild.

We spent 4th of July Saturday at Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier.
Venice Beach is quite an experience I must say.
I really had no idea what to expect.
We had lunch at the Side Walk Cafe.
 Very popular and very good.
I think our favorite place was the Getty Museum.
It was one of the coolest buildings I have seen in a long time.
The gardens were amazing and the exhibits were interesting.
I highly recommend checking it out.
We also went to the newly opened Grammy Museum.
No pictures allowed, that is why there are none.
It was very high tech and I didn't think son1 would ever leave.  In fact, husband, son2 and I left and went to Philippes  to grab a sandwich and brought him back one when he was finally finished.

That is the end of my travels for awhile now.
I have to put my feet back down on the ground and live in reality for awhile.

I agree that it is nice to be away but just as nice to come home. Your shorts are so cute!

Sincerely,

Julie

I visited LA for the first time in October and LOVED it! Venice Beach was one of my favourite spots and the Museum of Tolerance in Beverly Hills is fascinating! Great ruffle top and mmm you're making a veggie crave red meat- that's not good! ;)

I feel like you've been traveling forever! I'm glad you had fun in LA. I'm not a big fan but I get it. I remember my first time there and how I felt. But after going there a few more times, I was all, "meh". And the traffic had a lot to do with it. It's the absolute WORST! Isn't it? Ugh.

Anyway, you look so happy that it makes me think I should give it one more try.

xoxo

I've never been to LA.  I'm too afraid.  The idea of heavy, HEAVY traffic scares the crap out of me.  Maybe someday I'll go...with a chaperone of course.

Glad you had a nice time, though!  Cute pictures.  I had In N Out burger once and it was quite tasty...I didn't like the fries, though.  What did you think?

Glad you had fun.  Your report is especially interesting to me because one of my best friends just moved to LA and I'm wondering what her new environment is like.

A bunch of us went to LA in 2004 to the ABC Fan Club Weekend. And we went to Hollywood Blvd, we were also surprised about the Kodak theatre being in a mall! You did much more than we did! I need to go back!

Didn't make it to the museum of tolerance. If only we hadn't spent as much time in traffic as we did sightseeing!

I know. I saw a girl walking around with the Luke shirt and I about attacked her and said where did you find that. She just laughed and steered me in the right direction.

Yea the traffic was a downer. Thank goodness the boys just put in their headphones & rolled w/it.
I really didn't eat many of the fries. They were kinda sweet. I like my fries salty!
