Ashley over on 2 Eyes In The Mirror has declared today Love
Your Body Day.
What a great way for those of us in the fashion blogging
world to embrace not only ourselves, but the everyday women out in the real
world.
The best thing about fashion blogging, besides the great
fashions of course, is the representation of the everyday woman.
I grew up with a low self image of myself. I have dealt with that image for a very long
time, even when it wasn’t true. Whether that image was that I too fat, too old, too
wrinkly or just not pretty enough. It all
could ruin my day by what I thought I saw or didn’t see in the mirror.
As I have matured and gotten wiser, I realize that self
perception should not come from the mirror or the scale. It should come from inside. If you exude confidence, joy and self –
worth, that is how people see you no matter what size your clothes say, what number the scale shows or what year you
were born!
To you younger readers out there, I say …You need to embrace
yourself, your personality and your zest for life. People really do see
you for what you are inside!
We all need to remember that God made us as we are, that he has a plan for us and that he loves us.
Now go look in the mirror and blow yourself a big kiss!!

It's so nice to see these posts from everyone! The blogging community is such a supportive community and it's nice to see real women!
Excellent post, Brett!!
I blew myself a kiss and then giggled for five minutes. That was fun.
I think you're fabulous. I'm glad you see what I see!

Yay! Thanks so much for posting. :) I agree that young people (well, and older people, too, of course) need to embrace themselves and just live. It's such a waste to spend years of your life hating your body!
I've been there too, and sometimes still slip into the negative thinking if I'm not careful. I totally agree, finding fashion blogs has helped me appreciate myself better by seeing a great representation of women of all ages, shapes, and sizes looking stylish and beautiful!
All of this is true, but so hard yes?
I keep reminding myself that my hubs thinks everything is awesome so I should as well. :)
Such a terrific post! You are beautiful and fabulous!
Julie
I think you have such great advice here, and I'm glad you shared with us!
Oh if I could have a word with my teenage self...
I like what you wrote about self perception not coming from the mirror or the scale- as hard as it is, exuding confidence from the inside is the most important! Now I'm off to blow myself a kiss :)
Excellent Post!
