Awkward And Awesome Thursday

Happy Thursday!
As most of you know Sydney over on
The Daybook is the one that created Awkward and Awesome Thursdays.  I just wanted to let everyone know that she just had her baby this week.  A little boy named, Everett!  Congrats to the whole family.
Awkward:
  • Not so much awkward as sad... remember the deer from last week?  Someone hit it this morning and Mr. Bambi is up in deer heaven now.
  • Master Bath toilet broken and having to use the guest bathroom toilet.  I never knew I could miss a potty so much. (it is now in working condition as of last night)
  • Finding out I need to have elbow surgery and trying to schedule it around the upcoming holidays.
  • Trick or Treaters bypassing my house for the house next door because they have a fire going in the front yard!
  • Thinking I am scoring points with son2 by buying him a shirt of a band he really likes only to find out it was a woman's t-shirt not a mans.
Awesome:
  • My first day as a stylist at Dress For Success.
  • Seeing son1 this weekend for his 20th birthday.
  • Mother-in-law coming to visit for a long weekend.
  • Getting a few Christmas gifts taken care of this week online.  Love Christmas shopping online!
  • No left over Halloween candy to tempt me or anyone else in the house!
This is my fab little sweater dress I got at Target for $20 last year!
I had forgotten that I had it until I went looking for something else in my closet.
I wanted to throw some color into the mix so I thought why not go for some real fall color with these tights.
The scarf just happened to match perfectly.
(i did fix the slip mishap in this photo so no slip was showing the rest of the day!)

What is the last thing you pulled from your closet that you totally forgot you had?
Was it something you love or something that went immediately into the give away pile?

Poor Bambi :( You are the only other person I know that enjoys when their MIL comes for a visit. My MIL is awesome!

I absolutely adore this outfit! The tights are great.

I recently rediscovered a blue wrap dress that I got in a swap. I forgot how much I love it! Heather

Really sad about bambi. Elbow surgery huh? My husband had that recently and he's all better. Hope the same goes for you. Also, isn't it great to have a fab mother inlaw? I'm guessing yours is great too, if she's on the "awesome" list.

Great sweater dress, and the rust tights and scarf were a wonderful touch.

xoxo,
Tracy

I love that your mother-in-law's visit falls under awesome. That's awesome. Also I don't know if you id it yourself but I like the idea of knotting your scarf to give it visual interest.

The outfit is so amazing! What a fantastic dress, glad you stumbled across it so we can see it more often.

Elbow surgery? That doesn't sound pleasant at all. :(
