You might be asking yourself what some of the makeup trends for this season are.
That's where my post comes in.
Here are 4 fabulous make-up must haves, where to get them and how to use them.
1. Red Lipstick
Now Red lipstick can be very hard to wear and if you are fair skinned like me, it is almost impossible not to look like you have been playing in your mom's lipsticks!!
It took me forever, but this summer I found the ultimate red lipstick that anyone can wear.
It is not red hot mamma red, but more of a red with brown undertones. That is what makes it so wearable.
- The lipstick is Sheer Red(309B) from N.Y.C. I got mine at CVS, but I know Target carries that brand ($4.00)
- make sure you moisturize your lips well first then put concealer all over your lips
- line your lips so the red lipstick doesn't bleed, make sure and get the corners of your mouth
- fill in lips with lipliner
- now apply your lipstick, again, make sure you get the corners of your lips and use a lipbrush to even out the lip line if needed
- apply gloss the middle of your bottom lip and smack!
- add a bit of highlighter to cupid's bow and you are ready to WOW!
There are many ways to achieve that glowy look. I am going to share an easy and inexpensive way today.
- I am using Dream Mousse Blush by Maybelline in Pink Frosting. I got mine at Target for around $5
- I am not a big cream blush girl, but this stuff is amazing
- You can use is as a blush and it will give you that perfect glow or use it as a highlighter and achieve a glow all over your face.
- To use as a highlighter place on cheekbones just above where you would put your blush, right underneath eyebrows on eyebone, down your nose, your cupid's bow and just a dab on inside of your eyes.
- This product is easy to control, feels like a dream (no pun intended) and you can pack on the color or be very sheer with it.
3. Gold or Bronze Eyes:
This is a huge trend in all of the magazine for the holidays right now.
Don't be scared to try it. It can look beautiful and application can actually be very simple.
I am showing the MAC Dashing Lassie Palette, but any gold or bronze eye shadow will do.
This was a gift, but I believe the palette is around $36.
- you can actually achieve a great look using only 1 color and that is what I will talk about today.
- first prime your eye with a lid primer
- take a flat brush and apply shadow on your lid, make sure to pack it on well.
- next take a crease brush and dip into same shadow and apply into crease and up just a bit over the brow bone.
- next use that same crease brush and make a V in the outer corner of your eye and apply shadow in the V.
- now take a fluffy blending brush and begin to blend making sure you fade the eyeshadow up and out over the area just under the eyebrow.
- Why this works with just one color? We are using a color with a bit of shimmer and the light will diffuse and bounce off of the different applications making it look like you used more than one color.
- More mature ladies... don't be afraid of a bit of shimmer, just don't go for an eye color with glitter!!
I like the more subtle look of nails with just a bit of shimmer rather than gobs of glitter.
This color is a great color to show the sparkle and it has hints of gold, pink and champagne.
- Orly Nail Lacquer in the color Rage. I got this at Ulta for $7
- Application-You know how!!!
I hope you enjoyed my finds and if you have finds of your own, please share in the comment section!!

These are all great stocking stuffers and hostess gifts! Love the nail polish.
I wear red lipstick all the time! I really like the sparkly neutral polish, too... I just ordered a classic nude but I'll definitely be on the lookout for a sparkly one now.
I'm going to get that nail polish today. I love it. Thanks!
