I know I do.
Sometimes they really work and sometimes they are a terrible idea.
I think that on this occasion, the color combination turned out very nice.
I went with a sort of melon and purple color configuration for this look.
I saw the colors together in my scarf and went about the task of putting the look together around the scarf.
At first I was having a hard time coming up with what pants to put with this outfit, then I realized my
DIY red pants from last spring had faded so much that they were no longer red, but a kind of a melon color.
They were perfect for my endeavour.
I think maybe when my shopping detox is over I will invest in a "real" pair of red jeans!
So, what was your answer to my original question?
Do you like mixing unexpected colors together?
What is the craziest color combination you put together that you ended up loving?
gingham shirt-Banana Republic
purple sweater-Marshall's
DIY dyed pants/scarf-GAP
flats-Sam and Libby
earrings-?

It's funny how things like that happen. This is a nice unexpected color combo and your scarf is fantastic. My favorite combo was turquoise and red. Kayla did one over the summer (black, navy, and purple) and really liked it. Heather
I also love the mixing of patterns with the shirt and the scarf combo. Very cool. I like this color combination very much.
Unless black and navy are a crazy color combination, I don't think I have tried anything crazy.

Love this color pallet. It is so easy to fall into a rut when cold weather hits. I really like the scarf and how it pulls everything together.

I like the watermelon hue!
Those colors look lovely together!
Yes, unexpected color combinations are the best ones! I'm still looking for really good red pants. They're mysteriously elusive, seemingly everywhere-- and yet I still can't find the perfect ones for me.
I too adore unexpected color combos...and the best ones are the kind that happen by accident! You look great!
This color combo totally works!! You look great!
I love mixing colors, although I've kind of been playing it safe lately... You've inspired me to get bolder! =)
I like the colours you've combined Brett! The scarf is great too and you are recovering nicely from the surgery :)
Is gray and black together unexpected? heh!
