Awkward And Awesome Thursday

Good Thursday to ya'll! I am quickly heading down the road to recovery! There are only certain things and movements I can't do now and I am eagerly awaiting getting these stitches out Monday. They are becoming extremely itching! Now for my Awkward and Awesome moments this week...

Awkward:
  1. Before going into surgery that morning I thought I was putting on moisturizer, but it turned out it was self-tanner, not moisturizer.  When they were prepping my arm for surgery, they were getting all worried about the discoloration on my hands. LOL
  2. Blaming husband for losing my eyeglasses after handing them over to him at the hospital only to find them under the couch this week.  Apparently I was in a drug induced stupor when they fell on the floor and under the couch, cuz I never remembered getting them back from him.
  3. Driving up the driveway and seeing this giant royal blue blanket in the window of son2's bedroom window.  Not only was the blanket a total eyesore his name was embroidered in bright red letters for everyone to see.  When questioned about it, he said it was to keep the sun out so he could sleep late over the holiday break.
  4. Thinking I could apply eyeliner left handed.  What a joke, hence the sunglasses in the photos.  See, I was meant to purchase those sunnies!
  5. Remember me saying I love the movie Love Actually, well, I love watching the version with the commentary on even more.  Is that too weird?
Awesome:
  1. Pain Medication!!!
  2. Watching husband and sons cook Thanksgiving dinner and also trying to figure out laundry. (sad that sons knew more about how to do laundry than husband)
  3. Friend that came over to help me decorate for Christmas!  How awesome is she?!
  4. Having all of your lovely blogs and Pinterest to keep me from going insane while I have been recuperating.
  5. An unexpected gift!  *see the lovely bracelets in the pics
No, I am not wearing my sling all of the time, but wanted to add some drama to the first pictures back after surgery.
What? You didn't know I was all about the drama????
I have been obsessing over the color blue lately.
When I saw this little blue sweater in the closet this morning I knew I had to put it on.
Please don't look too closely at the scarf tying, like I said certain movements are just not happening for me, so I one hand wrapped this baby around my neck.

Are you really into a certain color right now?
What color is it?

Love this color blue on you and it matches your sling! It takes skill to wrap your scarf one handed, so good job :) I have been into mustard yellow lately. Heather

Your sling and sweater match! I hope your arm is doing okay.

Dang girl, you are so hardcore! Rocking the sling in your outfit pictures! My idol. ;) Could have fooled me about the scarf tying, too. Everything looks great!

I LOLed at Awkward #1. I know EXACTLY what you mean.

I was thinking how cute you tied that scarf and then read what you said about that. Maybe you are still in a drug in-dosed stupor? You look really cute, Brett. That color is FABulous on you.

I had a sling like that once. Got it in the fifth grade when I ran on a balance beam and slipped, falling onto my elbow. It hurt.

What prompted the surgery?

I had a little hand operation a few years ago and was so happy my fingers were mobile enough to put on my makeup!

Oh no hahaha #1 made me laugh! I love the color of your sweater and it's definitely great with the pants. Currently I've been wearing loads of black. I love hot pink but I've only got one hot pink thing!

I am glad that you are being well cared for during this time! And yes pain meds is great I had to take them when I had my wisdom teeth extracted! My favorite colour is olive green, love it for any time of the year :)

Glad you are starting to feel better. Too funny about the self tanner... that is something I'd do! You look beautiful in cobalt blue!! xo

You even colour coordinated your sling-how cute! :) Haha laughing about the self tanner mishap and your son's blanket hanging in the window (how very dorm room of him-maybe he should wear eye shades like me!) So lovely that you have a great support system around you!

I admire you for letting everyone do what they need to do to help! I think we, as women, have the biggest problem with this. Or maybe it's just me? lol

You are looking fabu as always.
