A Sad, Sad Day

Today is an extremely sad day in our household!

Our beloved Chester had to be put to sleep this morning.
We discovered that she had cancer last week and it was obviously a very aggressive cancer.

Chester was a birthday gift to son2 when he was in second grade.
She has been in our family 11 1/2 years, so it was hard to say goodbye, but the right thing to do.
She is was in quite a bit of pain.

We will miss you dearly, Chester!

Brett, I am crying. I am so sorry for your loss. He was and always will be family. It was best for him although hard for you guys. This pain of loss is very familiar to my husband and me. Take care, he was a handsome boy. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo

I am so sorry for you. I know what it is like to have to let a beloved pet go. We have 2 right now who are really old and I dread the day we have to make a choice for them.

Last week! You hardly had any time to accept it. The loss of a pet is so hard. Dog's are the most selfless, loving creatures in the world. Saying a little prayer for your family.

That's so sad. My sympathies. You had her for a long time, which is both good and painful.

I've never heard of a girl-dog named Chester. Must be an interesting story behind that name-choice.

Oh, that is so sad, Brett! I'm really sorry to hear that. Our pup has cancer, too, and we know that one day soon, we'll have to put him down. It's not something we're looking forward. Puppies are our babies for so long. They're almost like our kids! *HUGS*

Aww. Such a cute dog! At least you did the right thing and she isn't suffering anymore. And I bet you have a ton of great memories!

So, so sorry. They really do become part of the family. Try to think about all the good memories you have and it does get easier as time goes on (we lost our Boston to a tumor two years ago–the only thing that really helped was adopting another one).

Oh, I'm so sorry Brett. It's so tough. I have an elderly dog so I know how they are like members of the family. Cyber hugs to you. xoxo

I'm so so so sorry!

Pets just creep into our hearts and sit and stay. Like they should.

My heart is aching for your family.
