Go Green

On Saturday, husband, son2 and I headed Uptown to the St. Patrick's Day Parade and Go Green Festival.
It was a beautiful day and Uptown, in the shade, the temperature was delightful.
The crowds were staggering and the mood was festive!
At one point son2 said,
"these people do realize they are drinking huge amounts of beer at 11:00 in the morning."
I wanted to take pictures of all the activities around us, but the crowd was so big and rowdy that that just didn't happen.
The parade was fun, but pretty long.
2 hours long (is that long?)
Tons of people were dressed up and everyone had on green.
There was Irish dancing, Kilts and Bagpipes and even a little ride carnival for the kiddos.
We did partake of some Guinness, but opted out of street food for some Mexican.
Nothing says Happy St. Paddy's Day more than an enchilada right!?

What did you do on St. Patrick's Day?

shirt/belt-Old Navy
cargos-Banana Republic
tennies-Chuck Taylor
bracelet-JewelMint
necklace-Handpicked

I totally agree that nothing says St. Patty's day more so than an enchilada ;) Love the shirt, I was debating on either getting that one or the yellow (chartreuse) as I recall your post! I got the latter. SOOOO excited about mad men this Sunday! OMG Brett, I own every season on dvd!

2 hrs does seem like an awfully long parade but sounds like fun! This was the first year I went downtown for St. Patty's Day- it was insane and there were ambulances everywhere! I love your colourful blouse and the green belt-very cute!

you look so festive!
I didn't really do anything, I'm not Irish, and I don't really like beer...so it's not my holiday, haha.
