Awkward and Awesome Thursday

It seems this week I had way too many awkward moments.
Not sure what kind of mojo was following me around, but it wasn't the good kind!
 Awkward:
  • Dropped off some things at dry cleaners and dude asked if I wanted to pick up my other stuff.  Other stuff??  Husband had about 5 pairs of pants I had forgotten to pick up, a loooong time ago
  • Totally ran out of deodorant.  How does one do that?  I always have back up.  Had to use husbands, felt self conscious all day.
  • The rack I keep all of my scarves on in my closet completely fell down.  Just fell, it wasn't provoked at all.  Scared me to death.
  • Dear drivers.... if you are going to go under the speed limit please stay in the right hand lane.
  • Tried to get some melted plastic off curling iron with "goo gone".  DO NOT attempt this.  Not only does my curling iron smell horrible when it heats up, the smell transfers to my hair. (time for a new curling iron?)

 Awesome:
  • Planted my vegetable garden
  • Son1 is coming home on Wednesday (only for a week before he leaves for the summer though)
  • Got my new glasses, man it is good to see clearly again
  • The nice guy at the British Antique store (even though he kept watching me while I was taking pictures)
  • GIRLS WEEKEND AT THE LAKE!!!!!!! starts tomorrow!!!!
I was so self-conscious taking these pictures that these are literally the only 3 pictures I took.
I really didn't think the dude would come out and watch me snap some photos.
I had a whole plan in my head.

The guy made me so nervous, I forgot to take my glasses off.
The plus side of that is that now you can see my new specs.

I hope your week had more awesome than awkward
(believe me I could have kept going)

I really hope he was out there yelling, "Work it, girl!" in a British accent. But I suppose that would have made your awesome list, and I don't see it there. BOO.

Have a fun weekend! I'll be glad when it warms up enough here to go to the lake. I'm trying kayaking this summer.

I've had to use the hubs' products because I ran out of my own more times than I can count!

Love the outfit and new glasses. And it sounds like you need a new curling iron.

I love your awkward moments. SO funny. Especially the goo gone...

So cool that you grew up in Monroe! My sister teaches freshman English at Ruston High and I have a cousin that lives in Monroe. Small world!

that phone box is so cute, I hope you can go back again when it's less awkward, haha.

you must have some heavy scarfs, huh?
at least it wasn't anything breakable.

had that happen once with the shelf that holds all our mugs and glasses... it was so scary and a huge mess.

Leopard and coral for the win! I like the touches of blue you've scattered throughout as well.

Your photos came out great :) I used to care about people watching me, but one day I just decided that no, I don't really. Took me a long time though, and if people outright stare for a long time I deem them weirdos and feel kind of odd.

This is my favorite series you do, Brett. I always chuckle out loud at the awkward. LOVE your new glasses, love the interesting setting. So glad you "put yourself out there." To heck w/ the dude! It made your post so much more fun! xo

Oh Brett!

I use fingernail polish remover on my iron when it gets icky-works like a charm!

That guy is making me laugh! I totally get being nervous with him watching. I would have been beside myself because I always assume EVERYONE is looking at me.

No one is looking at me. :)

I'd love to know how style bloggers get over the fear of others watching them take their pics. I will bolt in a skinny minute if I think anyone other than family is looking :P

I'm glad you left your glasses on - they are totes adorable. Love the animal print with the blue necklace.
