Hello Lovlies!
Had a minute to blog here on the Outer Banks (OBX)
Our drive here wasn't as horrible as we had been lead to believe.
I think that is because there was no summer traffic to deal with, but I can see where it could be a nightmare in the summer months.
It was pouring rain when we rolled in on Sat. night.
By Sunday am the rain had stopped,
but it was still cloudy and freezing.
By the time we had breakfast, got dressed and got to our first destination,
the sun had come out,
but it was still pretty cold and windy.
Yes, I am posing in front of an outhouse!
Here we are in front of the Currituck Lighthouse.
We did climb to the top and that was pretty cool.
This was my first visit to a lighthouse.
As you can see son2 was much braver getting into the water than I was.
I kept trying to avoid the surf!
There happened to be a wedding at our hotel on Sunday down on the beach.
I felt sorry for them because it was so cold and windy.
Hope you are having a great Monday.

Yes, traffic is unbelievably terrible in the summer. There's no escaping it. Must be fun in the off season with no one around! I can't imagine how cold that water is, though. It can be in the 50s even in July!
These are beautiful photos-even though it's cold and windy it looks relaxing and serene! I can see a glimpse of your hubby the photographer in photo #2! I hope you're having an amazing time!
Looks beautiful even though it's chilly!

That looks so lovely!
I was one of the first people to discover the Outer Banks thirty years ago as a vacation destination. I was bowled over by the majesty of the ocean and the then-rustic appeal of the housing (mostly shacks). Since then, I heard it soared upscale with bigger and better homes, but I'm sure the water is still the same. Enjoy!
Hope that you're having a wonderful time :)
