Ruffles

I hope everyone had a fun weekend.
Mine wasn't necessarily fun as it was a lot of yard work.
Much needed yard work, so I definitely have the feeling of accomplishment.
Thanks to husband for all of his hard work digging holes.
I wore this little outfit on Thursday.
I picked up this linen blazer on sale at Old Navy for $10.
It's slouchy, wrinkly and comfy.
All qualities I like in a linen garment.
I am really not sure if this blazer is red or orange.
I think it truly depends on what I wear with it.
I will tell you a little secret.
I had to pin the ruffles to the lapel of the blazer to make then stay in place.
Otherwise, it really would have just looked like an ordinary scoop neck under the blazer.
These are my other pair of new shoes peeking out.
I scored 2 pairs of great sandals to replace my favorite pair that finally blew out after a couple of years.
Oh yea~ what is up with my hand in this picture?
Looks like a bad photo shop job!

What are some tricks you do when getting dressed?
Taping, Pinning, Folding, etc???

I love your little trick of pinning the ruffles to the blazer- looks so feminine and I just adore the colour of the blazer! I'm a big fan of 'hemming' my pants with the no-iron tape, no fuss!

Brett,

That's a deal for that blazer and I LOVE that second pic of you! The ruffles look great on you (good thinking with those pins). I wish I could wear them.. I look like a clown with too much going on around the neck/chest.. Lol

Enjoy the beginning of your week!

Pinned ruffles or not...you look great!

The ruffles over the blazer is clever! Don't you think it's always so difficult to replace favorite shoes? I always feel like I'll never find any I like. I have two pairs of shoes that desperately need to be replaced, but I'm holding out as long as I can.

Sometimes the best way to get the ruffles to stay put is to in fact pin it...what a great blazer for $10! I was just at old navy tonight..oh man I think they keep getting new things everyday!

That is such a great tip to pin the ruffles! The blazer could almost pass for a pink tone too! xo

Thanks for sharing your pinning ruffles tip! I use my boar hair brush to brush my bangs to the side before I put on a hat so I don't end up with kinked bangs at work. For some reason the boar hair brush manages my hair better than a regular brush.
