Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Hi All!
This week has been a whirlwind so far.  Trying to get the sons ready for college, getting our rent house ready for new renters and busy with back to school monogramming at Silver Needle Designs.
It just never seems to slow down.
Awkward:
  • Riding a 4 wheeler in a maxidress.
  • No toilet paper in rest stop bathroom and having to ask the person in the next stall for some.
  • Painting over walls that you painted especially for your sons back in 1996.
  • Trying to control those crazy shopping carts at Ikea. (is this just me, or do other people find them hard to control?)
  • Moving a sleeper couch from upstairs to the garage.  This was not only awkward moving it, but what goodies were found in, under and around the couch cushions!
 Awesome:
  • Our fun time on the lake last week.
  • Son1 moving into his new apartment this weekend.
  • Son2 having to actually organize his room to start getting ready to pack for college.
  • Son2's new computer which I have been hijacking as often as possible.
  • Shopping at Ikea with son1 for apartment furnishings.
Sorry for the crappy indoor pictures, but on Tuesday it was raining cats and dogs!
This is a maxi dress that I made look like a skirt by throwing this little crochet sweater over top.
I went with an all over 2tone look with the peachy and turquoise colors.  Notice my lovely stripe of paint on the elbow as an unusual accessory!

Tell me about your awkward or awesome moment this week.

I thought that was a skirt until you said otherwise. Cute colors. Sounds like your life is busy. Does your boys going away make you happy or sad, or both?

I was going to say that I love this skirt until I read that it's a dress in hiding. But I still love it!! Beautiful fabric and color. ;)

Great outfit. I thought that one of your awesome things was going to be that the person in the stall actually handed you some toilet paper. haha.

How exciting getting everyone ready for school. This is the first time in 19 years that I dont get a chance to do that. I will miss it. Great outfit! Enjoy your weekend Brett.

Such gorgeous colors Brett! Hard to believe that the kids are starting back to school soon..

I can just imagine the maxi dress on a bike.. talk about awkward. You could pull it up and tie it diaper style?

LOVE this color combo! So pretty.

Did the woman in the stall next to you tell you she could not spare a square, or even a ply?

Love that maxi dress! I haven't been to Steinmart in ages but they always have good stuff. Perfect for riding a four wheeler :) And your sandals rock!

I love this dress, Brett! I have a recent appreciation for peach lately... it's such a nice color. I do like the strong two-toned motif of this outfit!
