I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.
It actually was a bit cool here, so being outside was wonderful.
Today is Inspiration Monday over on Two Birds today.
Our inspiration is Elizabeth Olsen:
My interpretation is a bit more fallish and maybe a bit more hard than this sweet flowy look.
I went with an almost paisley type print that is much bolder,
but I think the vest and booties give it the same feel.
I am not big wearer of vests and in fact only have two in my closet,
well 3 if you count the big puffy down one.
I would never think to pair a vest with a dress,
but I really like the way it looks.
Are you a big vest wearer?
Would you pair one with a dress?
Are you loving this look or not so much?
The winner for the monogrammed key chain is Alex Elizabeth.
I will be contacting you shortly with the details on how to order you custom key chain.
Congratulations
and
thanks to all of my readers once again!

I really like this vest and the way you styled it. The booties are a fun addition.
I do like vests. They are a fun alternative to a blazer or cardigan. Oh, and I wore my cat shirt that you commented on awhile back. I thought about you when I wore it again! Heather
LOVE your vest and interpretation of this look Brett! I was searching for a vest this morning for this outfit and only have two myself. I opted for a denim jacket instead. Cute booties too!
It definitely flows nicely and gives the dress a little bit of an edge. I like it! Have a great week Brett!
Hi Brett, thank you for stopping by! Oh Inspiration Monday!!!! I participated in the past...oh my, I completely forgot about it :(
I will try and do it next week :)
You look great!!! I do not own even 1 vest, but I think I have to add one, especially denim, it looks so cool and is the perfect "jacket" kind of thing for chilly summer mornings or evenings.
Oh and I just followed you :)
I think you did a great job making the inspiration all your own. The paisley print pairs lovely with that leather vest. And I really adore the booties. This is a wonderful transition outfit as the weather cools down!

Darn you look sexy in this outfit, Brett. What a great look for you, edgy and ready to conquer the world. dawn suitcase vignettes xo
i really like this look on you...the feminie touches mixed with the more sexy/masculine vest and booties. it's a great weather-transitional look!
That vest and those cute booties totally transform that dress--I love the way this looks! Great inspiration Monday look :)
Your version of this outfit is great as it is a brilliant Autumnal interpretation of it- you look great Brett!
I am not a huge vest fan either! My mom however is! She always does an amazing job styling vests, this is a great look and I can def see the inspiration.
You look so cute with the booties, Brett.
I think this look is great on you...maybe you should give in to vests more often!! I also love, love, love the booties!
I love how the addition of a vest can modernize any ol' ensemble...especially when paired with a patterned dress! Love how funky it looks, a little boho luxe, a little sophisticated chic!
Would love to get your thoughts on my most recent hotel renovation when you get a chance! Hope to see you soon!

I have a few vests and keep meaning to wear them more.
Great job on the inspiration Monday look! I love the pattern on your dress. Very pretty!
I love vests with dresses, anything to layer and add dimension! The fall colours of your dress are beautiful and I love the rock and roll feeling with the vest and booties!
Pretty good, girl. Great boots!
I really like your take on the look! I think the fall colors are totally appropriate with the upcoming season! I'm not a vest person either, so I just used a jacket.
Yes, definitely a bit fall-ish... and I am so ready for fall! I think it's been an unbearable hot summer.
I love the vest and fall is already here...its sweater weather in the mornings and cool cool nights!
I love the vest. I am all for them
Hi there, just found your blog, can't quite remember via whom but it could have been Dawn. Anyway - hello!
I am indeed wearing a waistcoat with a vintage maxi dress today. It does that trick of casualising (I don't think that's really a word) a frock or making it a little less girly, which I like. The combination looks fab on you, that's a great print, and I like the rock chick waistcoat and ankle boots very much.
Love Curtise xx
A badass version! Love it!
