Inspiration Monday

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
                  Psalm 34:18
My prayer for all of those affected by the Sandy Hook tragedy.

Today's inspiration over on Two Birds is the beautiful songstress Leona Lewis.
At first glance I thought there was no way I could pull off any look even resembling this outfit,
then I just let it sit with me for
a few minutes and a light bulb came on.
I remembered I had this dress that I had gotten on clearance this summer and had never worn.
( Maybe because it had fallen off the hanger
and was hidden under the pile of shoes littering my closet floor.)
 I don't own a regular trench coat,
but I do have this fabulous Coach raincoat
and once I saw the color pattern emerging
I knew I had to throw on my fabulous Dolce & Gabbana scarf.
I wish I would have tied the scarf differently,
but I was literally running out the door with husband to meet some friends to go see the new James Bond flick.
(which I really enjoyed by the way)

Do you own a real trench coat?
Is it on your wish list?

Ha ha, that frequently happens to me (except the clothes vanish for years!) - you are totally rocking this look! That dress is super funky and channelling that fun dress of LL! Is your coat blue? I went for the samish colour is so!

I have a trench coat that I love -- it has a big kinda bleached out spot on it and I probably should replace it but I need to find something that I love as much!

Oh! Thought you were the new BOND girl :)

I can't live without a trench here in Seattle. It's rain with showers, showers with sun breaks, snow/rain mix, and ice/snow/rain... that's it till June..

I love how you did the scarf - it says "I'm running out the door to go see a cool movie!" :) I definitely need a raincoat - I got soaked today!

Super cute dress!
I own a trench coat but it's not really a classic trench. More like a twist on a trench and it's made from cotton so it's not very warm. But there are times of the year I wear it with layers. I think they're very flattering on everybody.

I love this coat and dress combo. Very Bond girl-ish, so appropriate. :) I just got a new trench last week and am so ready to wear it. It's been a long time coming!
