I was so inspired by the costumes, lighting, fabrics and richness of the movie that I decided to try and come up with an outfit that reflected my inspiration.
This what I came up with.
The movie was set in Russia in the winter and everyone was wearing fur and pearls.
I didn't have any snow that day,
but as you can tell there was plenty of rain
and
I was trying to snap pics and not get soaked at the same time.
How was the actual movie you ask??
It was different, but I liked it.
I will confess to being a huge Keira Knightley fan
and
I do love Jude Law,
but if you are looking for the "hot" Jude...
then this movie is not for you.
Have you ever been inspired by a movie when choosing your outfit for the day?
If so, I would love to know what movie.

black maxi-The Limited (very old)
booties-Me Too
fur vest-gifted

Gorgeous outfit!
This is so glam! Pearls, fur, the maxi skirt. Love it!
I don't usually get inspired to dress from movies, but sometimes outfits I see from a TV show. Does that count? Heather
You look so glamourous! Love the fur :) I get inspired all the time, but never have the pieces needed to put together the outfits...lol!

Gorgeous, Brett!! I love this and can see the inspiration! Excellent job...
I'm dying to see that flick and I'm loving the faux fur on you!
The fur and the long skirt and those fabulous shoe boots definitely have the right vibe - you look great, Brett. I enjoy a movie tribute dressing up session now and again (I have done Cabaret and Grease posts!) but not really for every outfits. Haven't seen Anna Karenina but the clips look beautiful. xxxx
Love the fur vest over the dots!
Love your outfit and of course the source of your inspiration. I haven't seen the new movie yet, but I'm looking forward to it; the book...though very long, is one of my favorite classics.
That is one classy looking outfit! I love the fur, so elegant.
She's a gorgeous actress :) Haven't seen the movie. Great outfit and love the fur.
I really want to watch this movie, my Mum said I would love the outfits (and if they're anything like yours, I know she's right!) I love the elegance of the fur, pearls & maxi. I dont see any snow on your deck, lucky lady!
I still want to see Anna Karenina, mostly for the gorgeous looking costumes.
ohhh fur and pearls! I love! I'll have to give it a try myself.
and yes, i've definitely been inspired by movies before. I wanted to wear the red coat/white hat combo of Natalie at the end of 'Love Actually'

i'll take any outfit with pearls. since i'm not much of a movie goer, that would be the last place i'd find inspiration. however, you did a great job!
I can't wait to see that movie! And I so love the long skirt with the fur vest - so fabulous Brett!

Very well done this outfit. My compliments. I have a long, tappered black leather skirt and am trying for more than a year to make it work. Still haven't found anything. Perhaps you should come over to The Netherlands and give me a hand. LOL
Love that book and can't wait to see the movie. You did a great job with the inspiration. I want to create an outfit inspired by Downton Abbey.
