As, I said last week, I threw a party and a lot of the party took place outside by the fireplace.
I thought it would be fun to make a S'mores cake in honor of that.
I'll be honest, it took me a long time to find what I was looking for on Pinterest.
Everything was SO complicated.
I finally pinned this baby.
Pretty fancy huh?
Would I be able to pull this off at all??
It was a 3 step process cake.
First I had to make the graham cracker crusts for
the bottom and middle layers.
Then the actual cake and finally the marshmallow icing.
You can see I had some problems with cracking of the
graham cracker crusts,
but that was easily remedied with cake and icing.
Here is my finished product.
Not quite as fancy as the Pinterest picture, but then again,
I am not a professional baker.
I will say using the creme brulee torch to brown the marshmallow
was fun though.
If you want to make this cake as well just pop on over here.
I will tell you that I totally cheated and used a boxed cake mix instead of the super intimating recipe they had for the cake.
Bottom Line:
The cake was good the day I made it and the second day,
not so much after that.
It was a bit of work,
but I was going for a theme,
so it was worth it for me.
Have you had success with something you pinned and did lately?

That is a great idea for a party by the fireplace. It does seem like a lot of work, but it turned out great! You have much more patience than me :)
that looks way better than if i had made it. i think it looks pretty darn good, actually! and yummy!
Yummo :)
Oho I am drooling over that cream. Looks and sounds delish.
Stop by my blog today on Thursday and link up one of your latest outfits since I am co-hosting. Thanks, Brett. =)
that sounds really good - and torching marshmallow does sound like a lot of fun :)
Chic on the Cheap
It seems like a really intimidating cake to make, but it looks so good!!
I am about the worst cook and baker in the world. So no I have never tried to make this. I have no idea why my husband loves me. Certainly not for the food. Even after 25 years with him I can still forget to put salt in the potatoes.
Greetje
it does look very tasty! i wonder why it doesn't taste as good the 2nd day. hmmm, what about the 3rd or 4th? do you think you'll make it again?
