Awkward and Awesome Friday

Hello first Friday of 2014!
Let's make our goal to have more awesomeness and less awkwardness in the coming year.
Awkward:
  • Lying in bed with your phone, dropping the phone and hitting yourself in the eye.  Cut and black eye resulting from dropping the phone.
  • Laying on the horn and watching as if in slow motion the lady backing into you in the parking lot.  (lucky for me there was no damage to my car)
  • You know it's time to take the garland down when there is more on the floor than the banister.
  • Getting tangled in the lamp cord and bringing the lamp crashing down.
  • Husband talking you into going to the Mall on New Year's Day.  You would have thought you could never buy anything ever again after that day.

 Awesome:
  • Embarking on the #2014closetremixchallenge.
  • Cinnamon pear french soda. (you buy it at Fresh Market)
  • A fur snood.
  • Booking a flight for a girls weekend coming up soon.
  • Ringing in a new year.
This was my New Year's Eve outfit.
We had a nice celebration at home with just the 4 of us.
This was the perfect combination of comfort and glam.
Sequins and fur mixed with a sweatshirt and jeans.

What did you wear for New Year's Eve?

sequin sweatshirt-Banana Republic
cardi-Loft
scarf-old
jeans-Old Navy
smoking slippers-JCPenny

Somehow the awkward moments make me feel closer to you, Brett...but I do not advocate bodily injury for anyone. We are all human and can enjoy our awkward moments together! I love the way you tied this scarf!! You look great...I wish my husband would tell me to go shop at the mall!

Hi Brett. More awesomeness and less awkwardness in the coming year, sounds great.

There is nothing awkward about that genius outfit. The Pom Pom Scarf is too cute as is that Gold Shell. =)

Have a Great first weekend of 2014!!

Oh dear, I too have experienced that 'being backed into as if in slow motion' before. And when the woman got out of her car she kept saying, "Since we hit each other..." "Since we're BOTH at fault..." Uh, no, my honking meant I saw you coming, lady.

I wish I had looked even half as glam as you on NYE, but I didn't, because I wore pajamas all day long.

Ugh! I have done that with my phone before too - THEE WORST. Hope it's not still hurting and that you have a happy 2014!

Ha, the incident with the phone is just the kind of thing I do, Brett! Hope your eye is feeling better now...
A girls' weekend away sounds great - where are you off to?
Beautiful outfit - I wore a 1950s dress and feathers on NYE, since you ask! xxx

OH man, the number of times I've dropped my phone on my eye! Fortunately never with a bruise -- ouch!
