What exactly is a blazer?

Here is the definition I found:

a lightweight jacket, typically solid-colored, often worn as part of a uniform by members of a club, sports team, or school.

Well, I think that definition is pretty old school.

I think of a blazer as a jacket that can add that little extra something to any outfit.

Pair it with jeans, a skirt, a dress, trousers

 even with a sweatshirt.

A blazer can be a very versatile article of clothing.

If you have a blazer hanging in your closet just sitting there,

 pull it out and try pairing it with something unexpected.

  Under a fur vest, as a menswear look

 or just to add a pop of color or pattern

 if your blazer isn't a solid or a neutral color.
