He was a bold man that first eat an oyster

That is a quote from Jonathan Swift.
Yes, he was a bold man, but oh what yumminess ensued after that first taste!
Last night I went to an oyster roast.  If you have never been to one you are missing a wonderful treat.  I grew up in Louisiana, so I was used to eating oysters on the half shell or fried.  I had not had roasted oysters until I moved to North Carolina.  I have to say that roasted is the very best way to eat them in my opinion.  So warm and delicious!
Yes, you have to work for them, but all yummy food is that way.  Crawfish, Crab, Shrimp, etc.  It was good to have husband along, he can open them up pretty fast and likes to share.
The event took place outside, so the need to dress warmly was at hand.

Yes, I am wearing a hat.  The gauntlet was thrown down by  Collette
I am not sure what I think about the beret.  Well, honestly ~I don't think I am really loving it!  I will not even tell you what son2 said about it.  (yikes)

Sorry for the blurriness of the pictures today and yesterday.  Realized at the party that my camera settings had been changed accidentally.  That's what I get for trying to take pictures with gloves on.

As you can see I have on a lace sweater, velvet pants and there are sparkly silver threads running through the beret.  Still working the  challenge!
(and did you notice the boots!)

What a difference it makes when the camera settings are correct

Thanks to M & S for hosting such a fun night!
Everything was delish and the company was fab!
