Blogger Darling of the Day

It's that time again. Welcome my Blogger Darling of the Day...

Emily from  Tinfoils Tiaras

I came across Emily's blog when I was checking out all of the 30 for 30 remixers over on Kendi's blog.  The first thing that struck me was the name of her blog.  I immediately fell in love with it.  Popped on over and she was wearing a dress that I own.  The next day we wore the same kind of necklace and the next day I found out she was from Ottawa,Ontario (super cool factor) by then I was hooked on her blog.

Emily is a fashionable helper. Educated as a Social Worker but schooled in fashion, she was the only girl in her University program who wore heels to every single class (even in the snowy wilderness). Her first pair of heels were red studded stilettos from Le Chateau that she would wear while serving soup to homeless people and teaching art to children. Emily's fashion sense was passed down from her Nana who was a British war bride with immaculate hair and hand-made suits. Emily has finally found her fashion/social work calling- She volunteers as a Boutique Manager with Dress for Success Ottawa where she gets to help disadvantaged women look fierce and fabulous for free!

Here are the questions I posed to Emily...

1. Favorite color of socks to wear?
I like to wear patterned socks- the crazier the better. My favourite pair are purple leopard print with lace!
2. What reality tv show would you want to be on?
I would love to be on The Rachel Zoe Project as a stylist- I can't imagine a better job or group of people to work with!
3. What is your favorite daily thing to wear?
I'm more comfortable when I'm dressed up so my favourite outfit is a skirt, cute blouse, high heels and fun accessories.
4. Who do you think is the best dressed man in Hollywood?
Hmm I've never really thought about this as I am more interested in female fashion but probably Jude Law- with on again off again fashionista Sienna Miller by his side, he always looks great!
5. Who do you think is the worst dressed woman in Hollywood?
Not sure if they count as Hollywood, but definitely the entire female cast of Jersey Shore! The orange tan, pouffed hair and doll sized clothing is not a good look for anyone!
6. How do you organize your closet?
My closet is organized by colour and clothing type (e.g. short sleeve white blouses are at the front and black evening gowns are at the back). I keep pants, jeans and sweatshirts (the few I own) in my mirrored Ikea wardrobe. I love organizing my closet- in fact I even attended a workshop on it!
7. If you could dress like any tv character, who would it be?
Definitely Emma Pillsbury from Glee- I even dressed like her in a blog post! I love her slightly neurotic colour coordinated outfits paired with grandmother brooches.
8. What is your favorite accessories excluding shoes?
HATS! Fedoras, berets, newsboy caps, bucket hats. You name a type of hat and I've accessorized with it!
9. Is there any outfit that you have EVER worn that still haunts you to this day?
Oh goodness, probably half of my High School outfits. I have a photo of myself wearing high top sneakers, ripped and acid washed jeans and a belly top with 'Athletic' written across the chest. What was I thinking?!
10. What celebrity/fashion icon would you want to take with you on a shopping spree?
See Answer #2 (Rachel Zoe). I would love to go shopping for faux fur jackets and flowing dresses while she told me I looked "b-a-n-a-n-a-s"!
As you can tell, Emily loves to change the color of her hair.  She is a fashionista with style and adventure.
Go check out her blog and tell her hello.
