Is Math Really Our Friend?

My outfit today is from Tuesday.  It was a gloomy, wet and cold day.  A perfect day to stay indoors and get some work done.
I  needed to get all my info together for the tax guy for my business.  Too bad I not only hate doing that number crunching stuff, but I also suck at it.  Math is not my thing by a long shot.
In fact, I saw this quote the other day and am thinking of painting it on a wall somewhere...

Dear Math, I Don't Want To Solve Your Problems, I Have My Own To Solve
Anyway, I had all my columns filled in and numbers added up and hit save, do you think it was actually saved??  Could not be found anywhere.  Had to do the whole thing over again.  Told you... math really is not my friend.
But I digress... here is my look of the day.
Sorry for the less than stellar photos
I couldn't get enough light in the room and it was the only time of day I had to snap a picture.
Please disregard the cute little wedgie I am sporting!
Are you a math-wiz?
Did it come naturally to you or do you have to work at it.
Is math really fun for some people out there?

Chime in... I would love to hear from you.

I have always found math to be a slam dunk. My girls on the other hand claim to be mathematically challenged. And since it was easy for me sometimes my understanding of their problem was low.

I use statistics a lot for my job, so I guess it's my friend! I hate doing taxes though, so I gladly pay an accountant to take care of that.

I'm not a math whiz either. I will tell you though...once you get all of that tax stuff together, listed, added up...you might as well do it yourself with Turbo Tax. It's not that hard. Sort of puzzle. :)

Ugh, I hate math. I know some people who absolutely love it though. I love the outfit! I'm such a fan of red and navy together, it must be some predisposition for all things nautical. The touch of gingham underneath is unexpected and looks great!

I hear you! I knew I was in trouble back in the day when I couldn't even help my (then) 5th grader.... Don't know how I ever got out of college--oh wait--yes I do--I changed my major to something with hardly any math!
Brett, you survived any we all got a giggle out of your story!

God knew that math was NOT my friend so He brought me a math-guy to marry...I still don't get numbers...but I do know that your outfit adds up to cute!

I love math! It's black and white, right or wrong. And usually you can tell if you got it wrong (I mean, you don't have to wait until you get your paper back to find out that you were wrong). It came easy to me. :-)

oh, and I like the bare feet :-)

You're looking so cute, in spite of the hair pulling experience with your taxes. Doesn't sound like a math problem, but an adding machine or computer problem.

Very cute outfit. My dad is a math wiz and doesn't understand when I don't get math. He actually thinks math is fun!

believe me, give those girls of yours some slack. It is like a foreign language to me sometimes. :)

WOW I am impressed
I would be totally lost with statistics

It is always nice when somebody else gets it!
Isn't that quote the best?

Glad to entertain with a wedgie, seems like I should be a math geek if I am sporting a wedgie. LOL

Always admire the math people.

That room in our house is MY room. It has a lot of pink in it and a tv is forbidden in there.

I am afraid with it being a business it is better to let our tax dude take care of it.. I am always scared that the IRS is going to bust me for something. Could even tell you what though Ha Ha

Thanks Halie, you can't see it in the pictures, but the collar of my button down was sticking out of the turtle neck. Very J.Crew!

Girl, you know my mathematical disabilities first hand!
Crippling....

Husband is a math whiz too.
Can add anything up in his head
I always have him do the measurements for me when I am sewing curtains or something lol

Oh Kari, I always know my answers are wrong with out having to wait to get a paper back lol
Black and White might be the problem, I am a shades of pink person......

I go barefoot more than I wear shoes, so I thought I'd just go with it

silvrgurl said...

the math problem, was that I had to do it all over again and for me that is like driving nails into my brain and no one likes that!

Don't you just hate those people that say Math is fun?!
It is just too stressful for me

My husband and 3 kids are all great at math, whereas I am more like this quote: "5 out of 4 people have trouble with fractions"! Yeah...that's me AND I also get the kind of computer trouble you just talked about.

Love the scene here--tough with the light tho.
Math is a necessary evil--just did our taxes--well almost :~(.
I'm a right brained person--not the logical side. Paula

Luckily I'm married to a CPA because I am definitely a right-brain person. Or no brain as the case may sometimes be.

I love that wicker chaise!
