Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Hi all!
Hope you are having a little bit better day than I am today.  You can read down further to see why my day is not going so well.

At least I can still put an outfit together, so all is not lost

Awkward:
  • Attempting to type right now after just getting a shot of cortisone in my elbow this morning.  As most of you know I had a terrible bout of "tennis yoga" elbow in my right arm.  I now am suffering from the same thing in my left elbow.  Not only is getting old awkward, it sucks!
  • Son1 waking up his first morning home from college with his right eye swollen shut due a killer case of poison ivy all over his neck and face.  He had been playing freesbi golf in the woods the day before.  Lucky for him he got in to see the doctor right away and got a steroid shot.
  • Son2 spray painting a wall in his room.  We had been talking about repainting the kitchen, he asked if he could repaint his room.  I said sure, didn't know he meant with a can of spray paint the next day.
  • My face peeling like a snake from late Sat. until, well, it is still peeling.  Got a facial on Friday and I guess by Sat. night my face was revolting against the procedure.
  • Trying not to be rude, make faces, laugh or smirk while listening to someone tell you a story that you are pretty sure cannot be true.

Awesome:
  • Getting a facial on Friday.  It felt wonderful and my skin was oh so baby soft and smooth.  Then came Sat. evening and all bets were off.  At least I felt young and pretty for a few hours.
  • Being challenged to a grocery cart race in Costco by a little elderly man.  I will man up and tell you that he did win.  He had 3 items in his cart, mine was overflowing.  I think I pretty much made his day.
  • Putting together a Mother's Day Basket for a young mother in the Safe Journey Program.
  • Filling my house full of the beautiful flowers from my yard.  I have hydrangeas, gardenias and knock-out roses.  My house smells devine.
  • Finding my favorite pair of jeans after they had been lost since Jan.  I had accidentally put them in son1's laundry and he had them at school.  When we were sorting out his mountains of laundry, he pulled them out and said, "these jeans must have shrunk because I can't fit into them."  I was so happy to see they were my lost jeans and also so happy that son1 couldn't fit into them!  A Double Awesome!

I really can't believe that it has been so cool here the last few days.
I was resigned to summer weather since this weekend.
Oh, well, that's why we have jackets right.

I think I am having some kind of flirtation with blue gingham.
This is the second day in a row I have worn it.
Are you having a flirtation with any particular item, pattern
or article of clothing?
Would love to hear what it is.

gingham shirt-F21
white jean jacket-Old Navy
green pants-Loft
tennis shoes-Jack Purcell vai Zappos

Sorry to hear about your elbow. My husband is having surgery tomorrow on his right elbow. He has tennis elbow too. But his is from cycling.

I had a facial on Friday as well and I loved that fresh smooth young feeling afterward as well. It's just so great. Sorry that your treatment ended up peeling. That sucks.

Gingham is great. You fantastic in this outfit. That white jacket is a fab touch. I'm really into flow-y dresses and skirts right now. Can't get enough of them.

XOXO,
Tracy

hahaha -- about your son having your pants! I love those green pants -- are they really green? They look so comfy, and they fit you so well! I also love the gingham shirt. Blue is a great color on you!
