FBFF: Local Influences

 Happy Friday my sweetsies!
Today on FBFF we are talking about local influences on how we dress or don't dress.
     1. What part of the world do you blog from?

  • I blog from Charlotte, North Carolina.
  • The particular area of Charlotte that I live in is called South Charlotte.
  • I would say that it is the the second urban core of the city.  Charlotte is the 17th largest city in the US and 2nd largest in the world of banking.
  • Charlotte is often referred to as the city of churches and is also known for its connection to NASCAR.
  • As you can tell we get a mixture of very different influences here in Charlotte.

2. If you had to describe the overall mode of dress for where you live what would you say?

  • In the area where I live, there is the group of tennis ladies, the stay at home moms and the impeccable dressers.
  • You can go out to dinner and see everything from Dolce & Gabbana, Target or Under Armour.

3. Do you fit in with the status quo around you or do you break the mold?

  • I am certainly not breaking any molds, but I am not running around town in sweats or tennis clothes.
  • On the other hand, I am not going to the market in my Mark Jacobs either (even if I owned Mark Jacobs)
4. If you have lived or traveled to another part of the country/world did your clothing choices evolve?

  • My big story about this is when I went to Mykonos, Greece.  I have never been so embarrassed by my Land's End swim suit.  I swore when I got home I would never purchase another one and threw out the two that I owned.
  • I also grew up in the south where I guess people just dress up more, although I never considered it dressing up.  I lived in Philadelphia for a while and people would say, where are you going so dressed up?  When I would say the pediatrician or some such place they looked at me like I was crazy.

5. If you had to describe your style by naming a specific city, what would you be?

  • I really have no idea, I would say my style is relaxed casual with a bit of fun.
  • Not sure what city that would be.
  • Maybe my style is from that little city in my head called "Fantasy Land"
Wanna know what other bloggers  have to say about how where they live influences their sense of style.

I'm heading to your state on Sunday. Far from you, but I will still be there. I can't wait to get to the sun and the beach and relax. Too bad you can't join me!
