Retail Detox Update

It has been awhile since I updated ya'll on my 100 Day Retail Detox. You are probably wondering how I fared out in Vegas.First let me tell you that the shopping was AMAZING!  There were stores that I thought were only myths, stores with the coolest displays I have ever seen and stores just calling out my name as I walked past!

Honestly, I have to say that being on a shopping ban was actually helpful.  It took all the pressure off and I didn't feel so overwhelmed.  I just browsed and enjoyed. HONEST!!
If you read my blog yesterday, you know I did shop for a dress for my brother's wedding.
I actually didn't even go to a store.
I ordered 3 dresses online and then tried them on and picked the one I liked the best.
I knew that if I actually went into a store and started shopping I would have trouble just leaving with one dress.
So, it hasn't been too awful.
I did shop with son2 for his birthday, but trust me it was not fun for me.
Well, shopping for the beanie was fun, but the rest of his choices weren't even from shops I would ever even considering going into!
  LOL
My outfit today is a copy cat from a magazine.
The picture had mustard jeans and cobalt sweater.
I just flipped the items and voila! An outfit was born.
Do you love getting inspiration from pictures in magazines, Pinterest, tv & movies or street style?
Do you think it is cheating to do a copy cat outfit?

Have a Fabulous weekend and I hope to have some fun pictures from the wedding this weekend!

Getting inspiration from various sources is so helpful. If you copy cat an outfit it's not cheating. It's considered a form of flattery in my opinion.

Yellow is one color that I have not paired my bright blue jeans with. Will have to copy cat you :) Have a nice time at your brother's wedding. Heather

Is copying an outfit cheating? Heck no! In fact, I think it's impressive if you can do it. I get ideas from things, but never have exactly what I need to replicate a look. You always do an amazing job of creating new outfits from sources that inspire you.

I just love this outfit on you Brett- it shows off your great body and the colours are fantastic! Wow good for you for sticking to your retail detox in Vegas- I don't think I could do the same! I just checked out your Vegas pics- looks like a hoot! You have such a photogenic family- my man hates being featured on the blog. Have a great Halloween weekend ;)

Your pants are to die for:) I am inspired by magazines, bloggers, and pinterest. I am off to Chicago next Friday for my sister's weekend and I am SCARED. I hope that I can keep it together. I said that that would be my weekend to shop but I actually feel guilty even thinking of shopping now. I guess it will create interesting posts:)

It's never totally copying in my book. We always add our own little flavor to the mix yes?

Just yesterday we went for lunch and had a bit of a wait and it was the BEST people watching ever. I love seeing what everyone wears out and about on their Saturday.

Good color combo!

Sometimes I imitate outfits from magazines, but not too often. There's nothing wrong with it at all, but personally I would get bored if I did it ALL the time! I like that you switched the colors to make the look work with items you already own. Very savvy for the girl on the shopping ban!
