Vegas Recap

I hope everyone is doing well this lovely Wednesday.
I am finally getting my Las Vegas recap up.

We had a great time and once again my trip was blessed with perfect weather!
I really had no idea what to expect when I got to Vegas.
I mean my only reference was Hollywood movies.
My first indication that I wasn't in Kansas anymore were the slot machines in the airport lobby.
I don't know why I was surprised by that, but I wasn't expecting it.
Yes, that is son2 making his debut appearance on the blog!
After we made our way through the lobby I was once again shocked by the cab line.
It was worse than the most popular ride in Disney!
We started exploring hotel/casino's right off.
My goal was to go inside them ALL!
As we were walking the grounds I really was shocked at how many weddings were actually going on.
I felt like I needed to be sporting a wedding dress or at least a bridesmaid dress myself!
These signs were everywhere!
A little shopping with son2 on the hunt for the perfect beanie.  We found it at a place called Chapel.
They have the most amazing hats and son2 hasn't been without his beanie except for when in class.
This picture was taken in the lobby of the Bellagio.
This is only a tiny corner.
I swear the lobby looked like a float from the Rose Bowl Parade.
 It was amazing!!
Of course we had to get our Ocean's Eleven picture in front of the Bellagio fountains!

Are you asking yourself if I accomplished my goal of seeing every hotel/casino?
  Why, yes I did.
I went in every one from: Mandalay Bay all the way to the Encore.

We went downtown and checked out the old strip as well.
They have it so nicely preserved!
I could just imagine what that was like back in the day!
My favorite hotel/casinos rank as follows:
  1. Caesar's
  2. Bellagio
  3. Cosmopolitan
  4. Flamingo (just so old school)
Las Vegas was a feast for my senses.
The visual images, color, textures and energy created a whole other world.
I walked a million miles, won exactly 63 cents and helped son2 have a memorable 18th birthday!
We celebrated at Max Brenner
The most decadent chocolate ever is created there!!

Have you been to Vegas?  What was your favorite hotel/casino?

What a fun trip! I stayed at the Flamingo 10 years ago and had a blast! It was for a crazy fun girl's weekend with friends. Enough said about that;)

That has to be the coolest way to celebrate an 18th bday!

It looks like you had a grand time! Visiting every casino/hotel sounds like a marathon, but oh so fun! What a great way to celebrate your son's 18th birthday too :)

I have never been to LV, but the hubby and I are due for a little trip soon. Maybe I can talk him into going there :) Heather

Not sure if you knew that we actually lived in LV for two years... Erik was conceived and born there--proof that what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas! ;) We have not been back since believe it or not but I did love the shopping/dining area at Caesars palace back then... haven't been in any of the newer casinos and resorts... It was actually a fairly normal place to live away from the 'strip' and the poker machines in the grocery stores were hardly ever used! lol! ;)

I got married in Vegas a couple of years ago. I turned down an Elvis preacher though.

Aw, your son is so handsome. I've only been to Vegas once before and am going soon for a friend's birthday. I've been dreading this a little but it looks like you had a good time! I"ll just have to do what you did!

You won 63 cents??? That's hilarious. I never win anything, which is why I never gamble. It's too depressing.
I would love to visit Vegas sometime! :)
