Awkard and Awesome Thursday

Happy Thursday!
Hope every one's week is going well so far.
Awkward:
  • Son2 completely stepping over and missing the snake at our back door.  Granted it wasn't very big, but neighbors killed 2 copperheads the week before.
  • Forgetting the zucchini on the grill.  Gave a whole new meaning to the word blackened!
  • Son1 coming home with a new haircut from his roommates girlfriend.  Very Patrick Dempsey, ala...Can't Buy Me Love
  • Son2 telling me that if I ever text the letters OMG to him again, that he will break my fingers.
  • I may or may not have been standing in a boatload of poison ivy this morning.  I guess only time will tell.
 Awesome:
  • Son1 is home for college for 6 whole days.
  • Going to shop at Tiffany's tomorrow with a friend.  Not buying for myself, but it is still fun!
  • Scoring a fabulous $45 statement necklace for $10.
  • When everything adds up to the perfect walk.  Slight breeze, cool temps, sun just starting to go down, geese and ducks gliding upon the water and the perfect playlist.
  • A Free bracelet from Baublebar!!
I wore this yesterday and was so surprised by how many people stopped and told me they liked my outfit.
It isn't anything crazy or outside of my box in any way.
I think it is the statement necklace with the gingham shirt that draws people in.

Are you ever surprised when you get compliments on what you think is an ordinary outfit?
Doesn't it make your day!!!?

This is SUCH a cute outfit Brett! I love the color combo. And oh goodness, if son 1's hair really looks like that - that IS awkward :)

I love the colour combination as well! I recently got a similar shirt from Old navy with orange gingham. What an interesting retro haircut your son has :)

OMG LOL (just thought I'd type that out for fun so don't tell your son)

Let's hope that was not poison oak ~ I'll stay tuned.

Happy to hear your Son is coming home. Enjoy every second and as always .. great outfit.

Charred zucchini, an "interesting" haircut, and poison ivy? Oh man, I laughed out loud!

And how do you manage to rock the *shutyourmouth* out of coloured jeans? For reals, you kill them every time!

A fantastic statement necklace like yours dresses up simple shirts, but the terrific color of those jeans really makes that outfit, too!

I NEED those jeans. How's the fit? Better than J Brand? Comparable? I love them. Going to check them out after work on Friday.
