Awkward and Awesome Thursday

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July.
Was it hot enough for you?? (had to ask!)
Awkward:
  • Husband deleted everything off of our DVR.  It was an accident, but wow, what an accident!
  • Attempting to do a July 4th themed manicure.  Check it out in tomorrows post.
  • Son2 and I cleaned out his closet to start preparing for him moving out this fall.  We found all kinds of awkward things in there!
  • Son1 was in St. Louis over the weekend with husband for a family  reunion.  The temperatures were around 104 degrees.  Son1 only packed jeans for the trip.  Lucky for him dad took him shorts shopping!
  • Losing power for about 2 hours.  It is amazing how quickly it gets hot without a/c.
 Awesome:
  • Spending time watching movies this weekend with son2 as he recovered from minor surgery.
  • Counting the amount of people walking to the pool the day the power went out.  Record numbers. (Our house is only 4 houses down from the pool)
  • Always on the lookout for new TV shows to watch.  Mother-in-law suggested Doc Martin.  Check it out on Netflix.  It is rather good.
  • The awesome cupcakes I made for the 4th.(See the details below)
  • Finding $6 in my pocket while doing laundry.  I always love to find money in pockets.  Why does it seem like you won the money or something.  Ha Ha
These are my red, white and blueberry cheesecake cupcakes I made compliments of
They are under 100 calories each and are delish!

Notice I busted out sequins again for the 4th.
A little sparkle for Independence Day is oh so appropriate don't you think?

Did you dress patriotically yesterday?

I had to check to see if those were Old Navy sandals because I have very similar pairs in red and green that I wear all the time! Yum to your patriotic cupcakes and low calorie- bonus! Love that you busted out the sequins- always appropriate in my books! Nice to spend some quality mother-son time, even if it was for a health reason and men are awful packers, I usually pack for mine!

I could probably eat that whole plate....that looks delicious Brett! And also, I love the blue sandals you have on! I can't imagine being without power in for 2 hours...It's scorching hot out and imagine heat if you live in a condo on the 21st floor? ahhh!
