My look today actually takes me back to my college days when I dressed pretty preppy all the time.
It was the thing back in the 80's!(Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club, etc)
I always had on my pearls, even with my pink and green sweats. Lucky for me my sorority colors were pink and white!
Going a couple of days without wearing a Ralph Lauren Polo was sacrilege
and if there was no clean madras in my closet,
it was downright shameful!
I decided to pair this classic plaid with a great argyle for a double dose of prep.
I really like how the pattern mixing looks.
Of course the look wouldn't be complete without some pearls
and
the oxfords just seemed to finish off the look.
Were you ever a preppy dresser?
Are you still a preppy dresser?

This is so prepster! I love the whole outfit. I would not have been caught dead wearing this in high school, but now? Absolutely! Heather
Not really a preppy ever, but more of a crazy dresser. In the 80's I was more into hot pink as a big baggy sweaters and running shorts or pegged jeans. Pegged jeans are coming back. Your color matching is AWESOME!
This is adorable...I love the vest!
We just had homecoming in the high school where I teach and one day was PREP day...I saw many outfits that looked just like this. You look really cute!
You look so cute and fresh in these pieces! I was never a prep - I think my hair makes me too messy to be one : > but I love these colors and patterns.
I had to google madra (pretty obvious I was never preppy) but it's a style I can appreciate, especially when mixed and matched like yours. I always tried to veer clear of hot trends, in High School when everyone was shopping at American Eagle, I was at thrift stores.
i immediately thought preppy & alex p. keaton when i saw this. it works on you. people may have called me preppy, but no. i wasn't really.
I like to be a little preppy, it's a little classic, a little fun, and I'm in new england, so i can totally get away with it.
Chic on the Cheap
Oh, how I remember the 80's! Yes, the preppy look was SO hot.
Your look definitely brings back the good ol' days! Too cute!
Love how you mixed the prints. I usually don't wear prep. I think I'm traumatized from all those years of wearing a uniform to school.
Was just going to say this reminds me of my sorority! Are you... Phi Mu? And yes, pearls with everything.
i don't think i have a prep bone in my body, but this outfit makes me wanna do something about it! this has got to be one of my faves you've style so far.
