Inspiration Monday

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Husband is back, but is suffering from a wicked cold I am sure he picked up on the flight home from Greece.
No worries, I made him chicken soup and am pumping him full of medication!

Today's inspiration over at Two Birds is Leslie Bibb.  I wasn't really familiar with her and in fact had a hard time with her look.
I had nothing in my closet that resembled anything this woman is wearing.
I don't own a pair of leather pants because
it would be that episode in Friends
where Ross wears leather pants all over again.

So, I decided to work this look from the outside, in.
I took the "tribal" print from the jacket and wore a "tribal" print dress.
 For the black leather pants,
 I subbed black suede boots.
I wore a black suede jacket instead of a black tee.
I think my look re-creates the vibe of Leslie's look even if it is miles away from what she is wearing.

Do you own a pair of leather pants?
Are they comfortable?

I loved that episode of Friends. I don't have real leather pants. But I own a pair of pleather pants that are really great. And I also bought a pair of coated black jeans from Zara that look leather. They are so comfy and not at all sweaty. I highly recommend these. http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/us/en/zara-us-W2012/269187/902085/COATING%2BTROUSERS

I love this! You did a great job. Your boots are fantastic. Love how they come over the heel a little bit.

I saw a pair of leather pants at NY&Co and keep debating to get them. I think they are a cool trend, but not ready to take the bait just yet. Heather

Mwaaaaaaaaaaaa ha!! I forgot how funny that episode is! ("The talcum powder and lotion is making a paste!!!!")
You look so hot in a wonderful sixties way in that outfit!! Like Farah Fawcett or someone!
I couldn't wear leather pants, they're always so tight, and I'd feel it'd be too hard to get out of them!

I have no leather pants...that would be humorous in itself!! But I love the print of your dress..good job!

LOVE your outfit! It's perfect and much more wearable than Leslie's. I, personally, have never owned leather pants although for awhile I thought they'd be the first thing I'd buy if I had the money.

Never had any leather trousers, and don't think I ever will! As so often, I prefer your interpretation of the look, Brett. Beautiful dress, and your legs are fabulous!
Hope your husband feels better soon. xxx

I adore that dress! The bold print really gives a fun vocal point, and I love that you kept the rest of the look simple with the black boots and tights. I can definite see the inspiration from Heidi in this outfit!

Love your interpretation for the inspiration Monday look. I tried to get a Missoni dress from Target, but totally missed out. I love yours! It looks gorgeous with your boots.

I like that dress! It plays with my eyes a bit because I thought the entire dress was that print, but then I noticed that you weren't wearing a long black jacket! I love it!

That Missoni dress is just fabulous on you and I love that your jacket was your Mom's! I can't imagine leather pants would be very comfortable, I'll stick with pleather jackets :) Hope you and hubby had a romantic weekend together after 12 days apart!

no to leather pants! I can barely stand a leather coat or jacket; too squeaky!

Your ensemble is adorable. I swear you don't have a son that is 20. You look 20!

My blazers are all pretty much the same style so this would be a hard look to replicate. I like what you did, the patterned dress looks great under the black coat!

LOVE this look! That dress is so cute! The ones I got at Target are very comfortable. The ones I got at Topshop, not so much. Probably because they are too tight. Ha ha!
