Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Have the cold winter temperatures finally found you?
They have descended upon us here.
Possible snow again tomorrow, but I am just preparing for freezing rain.

Freezing rain is always good for awkward moments.
Awkward:
  • Someone confiscating some of my birthday yard decorations right out of my yard.
  • After a fun, noisy weekend, son2 went back to school and husband went out of town for business.  The house seemed unusually quiet, creepy quiet!
  • Thinking you bought an item of clothing, but after not finding it in your closet you remember it was your friend that bought it.
  • Lady in front of me at Target buying 5 boxes of RIDLICE.  I don't even wanna know!
  • Husband's "story" to get me to my surprise party.  Poor guy isn't very good with a story.
 Awesome:
  • Still getting birthday cards via snail mail.
  • Randomly coming across Justin Bieber's tour bus while out walking after dinner uptown on Sunday night.
  • Trying to decide between eating birthday cake or birthday cupcakes!
  • Discovering a new lip product from the drugstore that is awesome.  You have to try the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth color sticks.  Your lips will thank you and the colors are great.
  • My new laptop!!
Yes, more sequins.
You know they are not just for special occasions anymore.
I have worn a version of this outfit before,
but added the scarf for a little pop of color and fun.
I love to pair casual with a bit of unexpected glam.

How was your week?
Awkward or Awesome?

Yep, winter found us earlier this week and it has been miserable! So cold!

Your sequined tank is awesome and I love that you are wearing it for day. Nice booties too :)

The cold has definitely descended upon us in the Midwest.
Ohhh...the poor woman in front of you in line; she's going to have lots of work to do.

Have fun with your new laptop and enjoy the upcoming weekend!

i can't believe someone stole your decorations. what nerve!! we sometimes stock up on this homeopathic lice spray just in case. it's nice to have in the house when you have two kids in school. i'm not proud of that, though!

Oh, glad I'm not the only one who had thought they bought something and then remembered it was a friend who bought it instead. (This has happened more than once to me haha)

Cute look! I can't believe someone stole decorations right out of your yard! That's crazy! How awesome you came upon Justin Biebers tour bus! Many a tween would have paid big bucks for that! lol

Well, I hope you stayed far away from that lady at Target! LMBO, too funny. It's 80 degrees here in Dallas. I'll send some your way. :)

Next ohotos inside: safer this way, even with a lovely scarf on.
Good luck!

I'm still waiting for winter to find us in FL. I love your awkward moments-too funny! You look so cute in that jacket and jeans. Love the color of that jacket.

That was ME at Target! As soon as we get the kids clear of headlice, they get them again, it's a nightmare! Hardly any kids got them when I was little, now EVERY kid has them at some point.
On to happier subjects - love the sequins with the casual jeans and jacket, it's a lovely combination. Cute scarf too.
Have a great weekend, avoid that freezing rain if possible! xxx

The colors in your scarf are great and I love this top! I wish it was as ready for spring outside as you look in these photos!

Brett, I think that sort of aqua green (at least in pics) in the scarf and jacket are beautiful, and look great with your hair.

A new laptop - yay!

Looking for clothes you thought you bought but didn't - ugh. Looking for clothes you know you bought but can't find - double ugh.
