Awkward and Awesome Thursday

We are in that blissful time right before Easter when all the Easter candy that you usually only see once a year is out.
Son2 loves Peeps, but only the yellow ones, husband loves Reese's Eggs, Son1 loves what I call the dreadful Cadbury Eggs.
As for me, I have a thing for Robin's Eggs
What is your favorite Easter candy?
  Awkward:
  • When the woman standing in front of you in line has on waaay too much of a hideous perfume.
  • Son1 trying to teach me how to skateboard.  My career ended before it ever began and I have the bloody elbow to prove it.
  • Realizing my fly was open the entire time I was taking outfit shots the other day.
  • A random lady knocking on my door asking if the ping pong table we tried to give away during our weekend garage sale was still available.
 Awesome:
  • Getting free samples of a beauty product that you liked so much you will actually purchase the product.
  • Husband gifting me a Starbucks gift card for no reason.
  • Ordering drive-thru and finding an extra order of fries in the bag that you didn't ask for.
  • Spontaneous lunch/dinner with a friend.
  • While in the doctor's office waiting room you discover a People Magazine from that week!
As you can see I am still on my pattern mixing roll.
I liked the idea of my coat being the same length as my dress.
Kind of a 60ish vibe I thought.
 I kept the accessories simple
because I wanted the coat to take center stage.

Let me know your awkward or awesome moments
along with your favorite Easter candy
 in the comments.

I am definitely a Cadbury creme egg and Peeps fan (only yellow ones). The other colors taste funny!

The dress and jacket are great together. Red and tan always pair nicely together. Heather

First off...the outfit is soooo cute!!

Second, my daughter is home bound with her new baby and is nursing. She hasn't left the house much at all. So, I get a call last weekend. "Mom, I really need you."
Ok, do you need me to come watch him for awhile?
No, I need you to go to the store...there are these amazing dark chocolate/maple cream Easter Eggs that I have a craving for!!"
Well, being the good mother that I am...I went and bought the eggs!!

Ha I love your awkward moments :) I will never try to skateboard. My hubby does it but I can't even stand on the thing! And I don't like Easter candy much, hubby loves those Cadbury eggs too but they're way to sickly sweet for me!
I love your coat, so pretty! And that dress is such a fun piece.

I've gone through three bags of Cadbury Mini Eggs... and it isn't even Easter. Well, my roommates did help. But still.

We haven't gotten all the way through the bad of Beese's Eggs, but they'll probably be gone by tomorrow. Guess another candy run is in order?

Love this coat! The pattern is really nice, I like the dark lining, and I can see it going with practically everything.

How fabbity fab is that printed spring jacket paired with the dress? LOVE! I also love when there are current editions of the gossip mags in waiting rooms, it's the only time I catch up on celeb news! My fave easter candy would also have to be the Cadbury eggs but I just made my own chocolate peanut butter balls and those were pretty yummy!

I am a Reese's egg girl, myself, but I have resisted so far. Maybe it is because it doesn't feel like Easter could possibly be next week. We are expecting lots of snow tonight! Love your coat! Is it this year's?
