Spring Has Finally Sprung

I think spring is finally here to stay in North Carolina!
This past weekend was beautiful even if we had some rain on Sat. morning.
I was able to finally get some of my pots planted on the deck.  It looks so nice and inviting out there.  Husband and I actually had lunch out there on Sunday afternoon.
I still have a little more work on the deck and then it is on to the front yard.

Here is my outfit from Sunday.
I have had this maxi dress for a couple of years,
but it is one of my favorite things to wear.
I threw on the light weight green sweater since there was a slight breeze in the air.
Add a bit of green and silver jewelry,
some silver sandals and you got yourself an outfit.
Okay readers... I have a question for you.
When you use a self-tanning lotion on your legs,
where do you stop on your feet?
Do you stop at the ankle, the top of the foot or do you include your entire foot?
Husband and I got into this discussion over the weekend because he was making fun of my white feet.
Luckily you can't tell with these sandals,
but it got me thinking about where you should stop the tanner.
Can't wait to hear your feedback.

I love, love, LOVE this tie-dye maxi dress! So fun!! I hope the weather stays nice down south because Thursday I'll be making my way down to Tennessee. As for the self tanner, I've had a few bad incidents with lotions so I now use tan towels or the sprays if I use it. They're usually pretty fail-proof, even for feet!

You can tell from my blog that I am a Stein Mart Fan and this dress would be another reason why...I can see why you like it and the color is perfect for you!! I hope you have avoided all of the devastating weather there. Stay safe!!

Hehe I usually put self tanner on my legs AND on top of my foot....and then it looks kind of streaky on my foot because I don't make sure it's absolutely perfect, I just kind of rub a little bit here and a little bit there and I'm good to go. Yeah!

I feel dumb because, up until this point, I thought you lived in Texas. I have no idea why I thought that...but hey, North Carolina is much cooler in my opinion! I'm glad spring has sprung there: we've got a few more inches of snow in the forecast. :| Like really? It's almost May.

Anyway, I am absolutely in love with your dress. It's sooooo something I would wear in the summer. Wish I could get my hands on one!

I'm looking for bloggers wearing maxi skirts. Let me know if you have any of those!

What a great maxi dress! The color is yummy. And it looks so great on you. The cardi was a great choice. But I have to stop for a minute and talk about those sandals. I absolutely love them. As much as you can love an object, that is. I've been having shoe envy with you lately.

OH, and I've been meaning to tell you. I'm going to NC in August for a family vacation. Like 16 of us will be staying on the outer banks at a beach house. I have no idea if that's close to you. But if it is, we should grab a coffee one morning.

xoxo,
Tracy

I like the dress! I have no clue how to apply self tanner, so I usually just stay pale.

We have had lots of hail, but no tornados, loss of power or hail damage
Yes, sometimes you can find the best hidden gems at Stein Mart!

Well, I started putting it on the top of my feet since husband made his wise
crack, looks creepy no matter what in my opinion
Us* lilly white* girls can't catch a break!
that is funny that you thought I lived in Texas. I actually have lived in
Dallas and Houston, but not for years and years.
I can't even fathom getting more snow, but I remember when I lived in Philly
my first year and it snowed on Easter. I was about to divorce husband for
that. lol Snow on Easter? No respectable southerner should stand for
that.

Yes, I do wear this little dress out. funny because I only bought it
because I needed it for a specific event I was going to and thought I would
probably never wear it again. Who knew

I will send you some pictures of my maxi skirt look

I can't believe someone would be having shoe envy from me. I have the worst
time with shoes. I got these a couple of years ago at Nordstrom. they are
one of my favorite pairs of shoes ever.

I am afraid to say that Outer Banks is 8 hours away. Because NC is such a
wide state it is not easy to get across it. In fact the Outer Banks was
closer when I lived in Philly than it is to Charlotte. Crazy huh?! You
will love it there though.

Jodi, when you are as white as I am, you need the self tanner. I once had
someone ask me what color white hose I had on and I wasn't wearing any!!!!

I have been busy planting flowers, but the veggies go in at the end of the
week once I get my little plot of land tilled up and ready. I hope it does
better than last year. For some reason because of the rain nothing got
pollinated like it should have and there was very little to harvest.

thanks for the tip, seems most people do put it on their feet. don't know
why I thought I should stop at my ankles. It's not like I just started
doing this lol

Pale is okay.... blinding white is another story! lol

I love that dress! I don't do the self tanner that often but do include the tops of my feet and toes. The tricky part is around your ankle. Don't want to look like elephant feet!!

I love that dress paired with the cami- you look incredible in maxis! I am so pasty that I try to use self tanner but it looks so patchy. When I do use it I stop at my feet so I have the white feet syndrome as well!

Got to tan/spray tan the whole foot! Must have tanned feet. Lovethe sandals and the maxi looks so cute!

oooh that is an awesome maxi dress. I love how you layered it with the cardi I need to do that more with my stuff I tend to be too boring.

Write it in Lipstick

You look great in this maxi!
when I apply fake tanner, i act as though i was out in the sun, i hit the areas that would normally get real sun, otherwise it can look fakey ;)

I love the yellow and turquoise together, and the whole foot.

This dress looks so comfy and cute on you! I've been wondering about self tanner myself because I think I'm going to make my first attempt ever this spring!

I am very interested to read through the comments on this question. Haven't started this sort of 'tanning' yet, but I definitely need to.

Deborah said...

I'm kind of ashamed to admit this, but I have never self-tanned. Am I weird?

I'd say you'd have to include the feet. Otherwise you'll look like a woman golfer I once saw. Her feet and ankles were stark white from wearing socks with he golf shoes. It was crazy-looking!
