As for me, I decided to try my hand at the Ombre look on the entire hand.
What is that you say??
Well, basically it is using a different color polish in the same color family on each nail.
I used purple because I actually had 5 shades in that same color family.
I started with the lightest shade on my thumb and increased the darkness of the color as I made my way to the pinkie finger.
Yea, disregard the chip on the thumb in this picture.

Thank goodness I only DIY.

Wow I have to admit that this is the first ombre manicure I actually like. I'm not really a fan of the ombre for some reason. I just may have 5 purple colors!

I've never worn purple, could never find the right shade for my skin tone. I love this look. I hardly ever polish my nails and if I do it's clear. LOL.
I was totally out of my square for this one.

It was fun sorting through the polishes.
I really wanted to do blue but had a big gap in the shades !
