Awkward and Awesome Thursday

Does anyone else feel like this has been a really long week??
And please don't get me started on this bloody pitch black darkness at 5:00 pm.
It is the worst!

But, enough whining and complaining...let's get on to Awkward and Awesome Thursday shall we?
Awkward:
  • Listening to 70's on 70 XM radio and realizing I know every word to every song.
  • Suddenly being hit with the fact that son2 had a dentist appointment about 15 minutes before the appointment.
  • Remember my awesome illegal purchase I made on Cyber Monday???   The item I purchased was a sequin skirt.  It got here, I ripped open the package and what awaited me???  A stretchy tube of sequins.  Not only was it just an elastic tube covered in sequins, I can wear it as a dress it is so long!  Where was the waist band and zipper in the photo?  The craziest thing was that even if I wanted to wear it, I couldn't walk in it.  There was absolutely no give in it at all.  I purchased the skirt from ASOS, so I wasn't concerned about the quality... think again!  I boxed that baby up and sent it back as quickly as I could.
  • The woman I saw that was in her 60's wearing shiny, spandex leggings as pants!  I have said this many times before...leggings are NOT pants!, especially when they look like vintage Jane Fonda aerobics leotards.
  • Son2 and I eating an entire bag of cinnamon M&M's in one evening.  I am not talking about the share bag either
Awesome:
  • Simul-texting with a friend during the CMA Christmas special.
  • Getting my stitches out of my elbow
  • Son2 having to do a school project which involved repairing the gate and fence to our backyard.
  • Kicking off the the Christmas party season this weekend with 3 parties in a row!
  • Shopping for toys for a 2 year old in a family we helped adopt for Christmas.
The other night I couldn't sleep so I watched Urban Cowboy.
I think I was channeling John Travolta and Debra Winger when I put on this outfit.
 (whatever happened to her anyway?)

I call it Cowboy Chic!

The denim shirt is actually pin striped like mattress ticking,
and dig those cowboy pearl snaps!?

What was the last movie you watched that influenced how you dressed?

stripe denim shirt-GAP
skinny cargos-Banana Republic
boots-Gianni Bini
belt-The Rack
bracelets-gifted and Black Lion
watch/necklace-gifted

LOVE LOVE LOVE this outfit. Everything single aspect of it! It is simply styling perfection.

I have never hear of cinnamon M&M's. I think I am going to need to look for those at the store. I am glad that your elbow is feeling better:)

Cowgirl chic-yes please! That necklace is divine and as a fellow country music lover I need to get a pair of boots stat! Ugh sorry about your skirt-that is why I hate shopping for clothes online! On the plus side- you have a busy holiday party schedule ahead of you! :)

OH man...the skirt was a stretchy tube of substance? I hate it when that happens, you were really looking forward to that skirt too! I am sure you'll find another! I love the necklace Brett!

Lovely outfit and I like your lists. Isn't it funny how we know those seventy songs so much better than any songs that came after that!

Cowboy chic... I love it! You look so cute!

And yes indeed, this has been the longest week EVER. I think it's because we all so desperately want Christmas to get here! =)
